MATRI PUJA at VKV BALIJAN

VKV Balijan conducted its Matri Puja on 13th February 2017 with sensitivity of great feeling and enthusiasm from students of class X along with their mothers in the school prayer hall during 10.00am to 12.40 pm. The day remained memorable by the activities and sharing the experiences. The program was overwhelmed by the presence of Sri. Krishna Kumar sir, Member of VKVs AP Trust who graced the occasion with his presence as resource for conducting puja and mentioning the significance of the day. Also Dr. Ravikant Altekar, retired Scientist of BARC India was also present during Matri Puja. The prayer hall was cleaned and decorated with multi-coloured   rangoli and pictures prepared by children about Mother and baby.

21st Jan’17   - Sri. Krishna Kumar Sir had a brief interaction with Balijan students before the prayer. After the evening prayer Sri. Kumaravel sir briefed the participants with guidelines of the camp.  Partcicipants also practised  shibir geet.

ISHAN VIKAS PROGRAMME

ISHAN VIKAS Programme 2016 for VKV Balijan was held at IIT Roorkee. The programme was to start from 5th of Dec’16, we left for Roorkee on 3rd Dec morning to reach Roorkee on 4th Dec. evening, a team of 10 students of 9th standard (8girls& 2boys) and Su. Dipshikha Biswas.

On 5th the registration of participants was followed by the sessions as Journey of IITR, Knowing yourself, wonderful world of engineers, leadership and personality development and then reading habits. On 6th formal inauguration was kept wherein Dr. P.K. Ghosh, Director graced the occasion with lighting the lamp and valuable speech. On 6th  to 9th & 12th to 14th the sessions included visiting labs, all the departments – architects, physics, chemistry, biotechnology, mathematics, humanities& social sciences, earthquake engg. labs, hobbies (technical) club, library , computer lab etc. In all the labs visits, departments practical demonstrations were given as well as students got chance to interact with the faculties.  Apart from these, there were sessions on ethical values, carrier guidance, better communication skills, art of living, sports, yoga, and SPICMACAY.

All the session were organized & conducted by the HOD’s, Deans, faculties, students got a chance to interact freely with faculties.

On 10th and 11th fields visit to FRI (Dehradun) Forest Reserch Institute, museam, solani Aqueduct, Haridwar & Hrushikesh was there.

Students got excellent exposure to the wonderful world of Science technology, mathematics  as well as human values / ethics of life.

The coordinator for the programme at Roorkee was Dr. Apurba Kumar Sharma (Assoe. Prof., MIED).

 

 

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATION

VKV Balijan celebrated its National Youth Day with involvement of staff and students enthusiasm on the 12th of this month in the school premises during 10.00am to 12.10 pm. The day remained remarkable by the cultural concert of students and the address of Shri. Choudhary D. K. Roy, the manager of Dufflagarh Tea Garden,who graced the occasion as the chief Guest. The whole campus cleaned as well as pandal was prepared and decorated with multi-coloured papers ,flags, wall Magazine and Craft  Exhibition made by students.

The program began with lighting the lamp accompanied by Mangalacharan. The Principal spoke a few words to welcome the manager and other guests. It was followed by Importance of the day from Km. Tok Yallam student of Class IX. There were eleven  cultural Programs, but  the hallmark of the function was the English Drama ‘Based on description’ presented by cl.IX students which made everyone to enjoy. The speech delivered by the chief guest was implausible to the celebration. He included following points :

  • Swami Vivekananda’s ideology is the door for life
  • Mentioned the goal of youth to uplift our county
  • Advised parents to bring inner feelings of Swamijis essence in day to life and not to pressurize the student for study
  • Appealed everyone for our culture and tradition and follow the life and messages of Swamiji
  • Appreciated VKVs contribution for the development of Arunachal Pradesh and felt happy to be inviting as the chief guest.
  • Asked all students to respect elder and teacher.

The chief guest was delightful to be associated with Swamiji’s idea as studied in R K Mission.  He lastly congratulated the principal and the staff for their excellent work in Balijan.

All VIP’s of Balijan who are the well-wishers and the supporting group members of school were invited for program. The program concluded with vote of thanks followed by Santhi path. Near about 700 parents with students and all teaching and non-teaching staff with family members participated in the program. After the program, the result of cl-III to V was distributed to parents also discussed with the parents about their academic performance.

 All participants and mentors were welcomed by teacher and students of VKV Balijan at the entrance.

Four resource persons-Sri Sourab Shekhadar, Sri Ketan Jadhav, Sri Akshay Kulkarni and Su Nivedita Pogkse from Gyanprabodhani Pune reached on 13th afternoon. ON 13th evening school organized an inaugural function in prayer hall wherein Smt. Shanti Manoharan, Principal VKV Balijan welcomed all the resource persons, mentors and students of other VKVs. Sri Balasaheb Nagarale introduced all resource persons and mentors. All resource persons sat with the principal and Coordinator and planned the programme. All inspire students and mentors attended the morning prayer and evening prayer.

Resource persons formed 2 groups for test and creative activities on 14th & 15th Dec. Su Nivedita and Ketan Jadhav conducted mental ability test for all students in classroom for 2 hours. Sri Sourab Shekhadar and Akshay Kulkarni conducted creative thinking activities at the same time .

Many playful things were given to students during corner time of every day. After supper students were taken for star gazing session in the Higher Secondary Block ground. From 16th -19th Dec, Sri Sourab Shekhadar took GMAT session wherein he taught Numerical series, Alphabetical series, Picture series etc. all students alongwith mentors showed enthusiasm during this session. Even he conducted five worksheets. Su Nivedita Pongshe taught how to make a scrap book with the help of news in different fields like politics, sports, Environment etc. She divided all students in seven groups also each mentor was deputed as guide teacher.

On 18th Dec, Sri K K Subramaniam conducted a Reading Comprehension alongwith English teacher-mentors. He taught how to calculate a reading rate and reading speed. Students understood their own reading rate and reading speed. On 19th Dec Sri P C Dey & Madhubal j conducted English worksheet based on comprehension and grammar. From 16th to 18th Sri Sourab Shekhadar showed two films after supper ‘Zootopia’ and ‘Menian’ Also he taught students how to take an interview. Seven Groups took an interview of mentors and principal of vkv balijan. They prepared a report too. Valedictory function was organized on 19th Dec.,  at 11:15 am wherein Sri Tana Taring , BEO Balijan circle invited as the Chief Guest. He appreciated the work of VKVs to conduct such camps for preparing students for competitive exam. He advised all students to follow what they have learnt during this camp. Km. Reela Kalung of VKV Vivek Vihar and Kr. Aditya Sarkar of VKV Nirjuli shared their views about the camp.  Sri K K Subramaniam teacher of VKV Itanagar also shared his experience during the camp.
