ZONAL LEVEL BAND COMPETITION - Vkv Banderdewa

This is a brief report on the Zonal Level Band display competition held at Guwahati on 19th December at shankardev Kalakshtra. Our Team consisted of 25 members and two Escort teachers proceeded on 17th Night by Donyi Polo Express. The RMSA Assam was the Organiser at Guwahati. They arranged a good accommodation for our team. There were 4 boy’s team and 4 girl’s team from 4 states of AP, Assam, Sikkim and Mizoram.  The Competition was started at 1 pm in the presence of Director of RMSA Assam, and Central Observer from MHRD, GOI.

The Boys of our Vidyalaya performed well but could only bag IIIrd position. The boy’s troop from Sikkim begged first place, since it was the troop from Gurkha Regiment, The Second place was begged by Mizoram. In the girls category the first position was adjusted by Mizoram and second VKV Nirjuli.

Overall the Competition was a good experience for me and over Vidyalaya for the future competition. We would see the energetic performance of Sikkim and Mizoram children.

The main problem related to our children was they are short in size and less energy level. We will rectify this shortcoming in the next year. All other schools had Bagpiper in their Band. Therefore our Vidyalaya should train the children in playing bagpiper.
