Swami Vivekananda Proclaims

"India is a land of religion and philosophy -- the birthplace of spiritual giants -- the land of renunciation, where and where alone, from the most ancient to the most modern times, there has been the highest ideal of life open to man."

"Let New India arise - out of peasant's cottage, grasping the plough out of the huts of fishermen, the cobbler and the sweeper. Let her spring from the grocer's shop, from beside the oven of the fritter - seller. Let her emanate from the factory, from marts and from markets. Let her emerge from groves and forests, from hills and mountains."

Matri Puja is one of the unique rituals performed in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas as a part of value-oriented education that aims at consolidating and instilling the opulent customs of our motherland in our children. The Puja is mainly conducted to worship the mothers by their own children in a formal occasion to give that divine feeling amidst the utterance of the Vedic mantras in which mothers bless their children to do well in All India Secondary School Examinations and in any venture they undertake in the days to come. The aroma and the ambience create a blissful and serene atmosphere and it is believed that the divine touch of the mother’s palm on the head   changes the brain chemistry of the children that endorses them to take the resolution to be true and honest to the words.
