Library Week Celebrated - VKV Jirdin

Library Week was celebrated in VKV Jirdin from 19th of November to 26th of November with much enthusiasm.. A small inaugural programme was kept where in dignitaries from NEFT, West Siang district were present. Dr. Alok Kumar (Registrar, NEFTU) was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function. Some other dignitaries present were lecturers and professors.

State Level Science Exhibition - VKV Jirdin

On 19th November, 2018 VKV Jirdin participated in the State Level Science Exhibition-2018 in Auditorium Hall of Govt. Higher Secondary School, Itanagar organized by Directorate of  Secondary Education Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. The Chief Guest for the programme was Sri. C.   D. Mungyak (Director cum Member Secretary Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science & Technology). Sri. Gania Leij ( Director , Secondary Education Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh) was also present there among other dignitaries. Total thirty schools participated in it. The Topic &Theme for the exhibition was “Scientific Solution for challenges in Life”. Around eight sub themes were presented there by different students from various schools.

Two students Km. Jomi Ete and Km. Rinu Doji of VKV Jirdin presented their model a smoke tracker and a solar wheel chair for disable person.  Among them Km. Jomi Ete of eighth standard secured 3rd position. And 1st position in her sub theme- “ Environmental Conservation” Her project name was “ Smoke Tracker”.

Sadgamaya Camp - VKV Jirdin

A three -day Personality Development Residential Camp was organized by the school from 25th of October, 2018 to 27th October, 2018. A total number of thirty-seven participants from three schools (Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Aalo , Town Middle School, Aalo, New Market School, Aalo ) participated in the camp along with six day scholar students from the host school.

District Level National Children's Science Congress was Observed - VKV jirdin

Today, District Level National Children's Science Congress was organized in Nehru Memorial Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Aalo at 10 a.m. On the focal theme,” Science, Technology and Innovation for a Clean, Green and Healthy Nation”. Seven schools from various parts of West Siang participated in the competition. Two groups from VKV Jirdin participated in the competition and secured 1st and 3rd position, while the Government Higher Secondary School here bagged the Second Position. The two students represented VKV Jirdin under the Sub Theme     “ Ecosystem and Ecosystem Services”. There were 3 judges, one of them was a doctor and the other two judges were Senior teachers from Nehru Memorial Govt. Hr. Sec School, Aalo. The Students were allotted 6 minutes to present their Project and 2 minutes for question answer round. The winners of 26th National Children's Science Congress, 2018 are as follows:

  1. Joyo Ete, Class IX, 1st Prize, VKV Jirdin
  2. Yangki Panggen, Class VII, 3rd Prize, VKV Jirdin

    The winners will represent the District at the State Level Competition to be held at Itanagar in November. Former, Principal of Nehru Memorial Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Aalo Shri Joken Angu, advised the students to take keen interest in such events to develop their knowledge and skills.

 Swachhata Hi Seva Observed - VKV Jirdin

Today on 2nd October’18, on the auspicious day of Gandhi Jayanti VKV Jirdin observed Swachhata Hi Seva. Though the weather wasn’t pleasant and was rainy, students of class-VIII and IX actively took part in cleaning the way from school gate to Jirdin village headed by Principal, VKV Jirdin, along with some teaching staffs. The cleanliness program started at 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. During it, the drains and sides of the road were cleaned, garbages were picked and collected and disposed at proper places. The cleanliness program carried out helped the students the need of the hour to maintain a clean surrounding in and around. It taught them their duty towards the neighbours to lend a helping hand in keeping the surrounding clean. It also made them aware of the benefits of keeping the surrounding hygienic.

On the other hand the remaining students cleaned their individual classes, under the supervision of their class teachers, who guided them and also raised awareness among them about cleanliness. Students showed their enthusiasm in carrying out the cleanliness programme undertaken, by cleaning the school building surrounding, classrooms and the staffroom.

The students of class –VI planted hundred saplings of tulsi medicinal plant in the school kitchen garden. As per planning, the cleanliness programme went smoothly providing the students and teachers to work together in teams.
