Young Arunachalee scientists shine at Taiwan International Science Fair

ITANAGAR, Feb 07: Four girl students from Arunachal have secured the 3rd position at the Taiwan International Science Fair, which was held from Jan 24-29 at Taipei.
VKV Nirjuli students Lishank Tasar (Class VII) and Tadar Parte (Class VIII), presented a “Study on Traditional House Architecture in Itanagar Capital Complex and to improve climatic responsive contemporary house” while VKV Jirdin Aalo students, Toyir Kamgo and Zarnie Lollen, (both class VIII students), made their presentation on “Impact of firewood collection on weather & Climate of Jirdin village, Aalo”.
The four were awarded medal, citations and cash prize of 3200 dollars.
153 projects were presented in the event which saw the participation of 513 young scientists from 22 countries.
The selection process was a tedious one with scrutiny of projects at districts and then at the state Level by State Council for Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology and finally at National Children Science Congress held at Bangalore and Chandigarh, sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The students were under the guidance of Director cum Member Secretary State Council for Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, Er.Tanya Ronya and State Coordinator, Children Science Congress Dr Debojit Mahanta.
Ronya has congratulated the students for the stupendous performance and thanked Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi for his interest in the innovation and Science activities relevant to the need of the state.

Universal Brotherhood Day celebration at VKV Jirdin

 

Vivekananda Kendra Vidaylaya Jirdin celebrated Universal Brotherhood Day on 11th September 2015.The Chief guest was smt. Oni Padung circle officer of Aalo and the guest of honor was shri.Lido Sora the principal of govt. Middle School Pakkam. 438 people attended the program including parents, guardians, well-wishers and villagers. The chief guest spoke on the unity among us and appealed to the hostellers to study hard and considered the hostel as their extended home. The guest of honor spoke on the necessity of educating the girl child. Also he expressed that he came to know only on this UB day that the pioneer work and contribution by Eknathji for the establishment of VKV’s in Arunachal Pradesh.

Health Awareness Program

The T.B awareness program was organized by the Dept. of Health Aalo on 14.9.2015 in VKV Jirdin.

Dr.Karmar Dirchi along with his team members conducted the program. The doctor elaborated different aspects of TB through slides and power point presentation. He cleared the doubts of the students regarding the disease during the open discussion. Then it is followed by a quiz competition in which the questions were based on the power point presentation and the winners were given prizes by them instantly. It was really a very knowledge enriching event regarding T.B.

Krishna Janmastami & Ganesh Chaturti celebration


The celebrations of Sri Krishna Janmastami, Ganesh Chaturti were conducted in the school level on 5th and 17th September respectively.

A Puja was performed on Janmastami. Different houses displayed their  "Jhankis" in their best manner.
On Ganesha Chaturti, prayers were offered by performing puja. The next day immersion of lord Ganesha took place. All staffs and students 258 members took part in the celebration.

Vimarsh @ VKV Jirdin

VKV Jirdin has conducted 'Vimarsh' program on 22nd aug. 2015 at Pakkam village govt.middle school, where 38 members were participated.

Sri. Kasturi Maharajji, Banu Maharajji, ZPM of Jini village, Principal of govt.school were the speakers in the program.

The discussion was on the topic 'selfless service, dharma and women empowerment '.

Most of the speakers stressed on 'doing good for others, expect in turn nothing and strengthening them to stand their own legs is real service'.

Women asked for women education, freedom of speech and expression in their society.

Regarding Dharma, there was unanimous belief that it is the righteous way of living. The program started at 9.30 am and ended at 12.30 pm.
