Sadhana Diwas Celebrated - VKV Koloriang

Sadhna Diwas is being observed today i.e. on 19th November 2019 in VKV Koloriang to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade. Importance of the day was told by Sri Pritam P. Kairi, Hindi teacher of the Vidyalaya. The Golden Jubilee celebration of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and the Sampark Karya was briefed to the students. The challenges and the untiring efforts of Maneeniya Eknathji for the construction of the memorial at Kanyakumari were also highlighted. Finally the students were encouraged to acquire the good qualities from the life of Eknathji and to work with dedication and commitment.    Painting competition on the portrait of Eknathji and interaction program by VKV Alumni was organized as a part of the observation. Er. Pani Jubi, JE(Education) Alumni member, first batch of VKV Koloriang, interacted with the students and took a swadhyay session of about one hour. Adolescent Health Day Conducted - VKV Koloriang

Adolescent Health Day is being observed today, i.e. on 08.11.2019 at VKV Koloriang in the school auditorium hall. Sri Mai Chobin, District Adolescent Counselor was the resource person. He highlighted the various problems face by the children during the adolescent stage particularly the age group – 10 to 19 years. The various changes that occur during this period i.e. the Physical, mental and emotional such as body muscle, hormonal change and change in behavior and also the remedial measures to overcome from such challenges were explained to the students. He remarks “Most of the children become the victims of attraction and addiction in the adolescent stage”. He also told the various dos and don’ts during this age group. Students were motivated to cultivate good habits and use the mental energy in right direction. After the session, different questions were asked by the students related to the problems they face. There was individual counseling for boys and girls separately

School Level PCRA Painting Competition - VKV Koloriang

VKV Koloriang has secured 4 Best School Level Entry Certificates in the PCRA Painting Competition both in Senior & Junior Category which was organized by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India. The Certificates are received by Kr. Bengia Taku & Kr. Bengia Siku in Senior Category and Km. Yumlam Namah & Kr. Bengia Jarjo in Junior Category. The topic for the competition was Oil & Natural Gas Conservation. The school Level competition was conducted on 14 Sep. 2019 in which all the students from Class V to VIII had participated

District Level National Children Science Congress Observed - VKV Koloriang

VKV Koloriang has secured 1st & 3rd place in the District Level Science Congress held on 22.10.2019 at Govt. Hr. sec. School, Koloriang. Total 10 groups from different schools of Kurungkumey district had participated in the competition. The theme for this year is “Science, Technology and Innovation for Clean, Green and Healthy Nation”. Two groups had participated in the District Level Competition. Kr Bengia Aru & Chera Banu, Class VIII with the sub-theme “Traditional Knowledge System- Ecological study of Coptis Teeta - a medicinal plant” secured 1st Position and Km. Bengia Yayer & Km. Bengia Mary, Cl. VIII with the sub-theme “Waste to Wealth- Waste Management in Koloriang” secured 3rd position in the district level. Both the groups are qualified for State Level Competition. The Guide Teacher is Manish Kumar.

Global Gandhi Solar Yatra Programme Organized - VKV Koloriang

VKV Koloriang has conducted the GGSY program ( Gandhi Global Solar Yatra) on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2019 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of nation- Mahatma Gandhi, at the School Premises in a befitting manner.

 Experience of the participating students: Since the announcement about the Solar Kit under GGSY program in the morning assembly in the month of July 2019, students were very excited to see and experience the making of solar lamp. In his speech, Kr. Bengia Aru, student of Class VIII narrated his experience and told that it was a firsthand experience on making any such product which he could only see in the market in readymade condition, but after assembling the products and getting success to prepare in a working condition was an unforgettable experience. Another student Km. Bengia Yayer, Class VIII also shared her experience in the presence of Deputy Commissioner, Kurungkumey and parents in which she told that it is a good awareness program about harnessing solar energy and its importance. She told that the stock of coal, petroleum is limited and appealed all other students to switch on to non-conventional source in the near future. All the students actively participated and became successful. They extended their gratitude to the Vidyalaya for giving them such opportunities to explore their hidden talents.

Experience of the teachers:  Helping the students and giving them training in making the solar lamp was wonderful experience. This kind of program definitely helps students not only to create awareness for harnessing solar energy but also to develop psycho-motor domain of the students.  It is also observed that the student’s attachments towards their school and studies strengthened. At the same time, all the parents of the participating students were also present on the occasion and seen their wards making solar lamp by assembling the products. They also expressed their happiness to see their wards involving in such a creative activity. Students also got such a wonderful thing in a very minimal registration fee.
