Quiz Competition Conducted - VKV Joram

Learning gives creativity, creativity leads to thinking, thinking provides knowledge and knowledge makes us great. Quiz competition is always interesting and informative, which provides excitement among the students and also gives them a lot of knowledge. Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Joram conducted a Quiz Competition on 18th of October 2019. It was conducted by our Education Officer Mudralidharan sir, and helped by Sri Dipok Chetri. Muralidharan sir was acted as Quiz Master, Sri Dipok Chetri maintained the scoreboard and Sri Prabhat Newar was the time-keeper. The quiz was begun with chanting of three omkaras followed by introductions of the participants. Before starting the quiz, the quiz master explained the rules and regulations of the quiz.

The Competition was conducted among the selected students of Classes VII and VIII. The students were selected by taking a written Quiz Competition among all the students of Classes VII and VIII on the previous day itself.

The selected students were Kr Likha Kamin of Class VII, Kr Gokia Toy of Classs VIII, Kr. Likha Tolu of Class VII and Kr Joram Chama from Class VII.

There were nine rounds altogether. The students participated actively in that competition. There were some questions for the audience as well and they too participated actively. At the end of the programme, Kr. Likha Kamin secured first position scoring 65 Marks, second position was secured by Kr Joram Chama scoring 60 Marks and the third was Kr Gokia Toy scoring 50 Marks.

The other students of classes IV to VIII were acted as audience. It was really an interesting, motivated, informative and knowledge enriching programme for the participants along with the audience and teachers. The programme was ended with Shanti Mantra.



National Childrens Level Science Congress Observed - VKV Joram

The Children's Science Congress (CSC), initiated in 1993, is a flagship programme of NCSTC, DST, Govt of India and has since crossed the silver jubilee year. It is an inclusive programme open to children of the age group of 10-17 years covering all backgrounds either school going or out of school system, belonging to geographic, language and cultural regimes open to all children including children with disabilities. Children’s Science Congress (CSC) prompts children to ponder upon some significant societal problem, think over its causes and subsequently try and solve the same using the scientific process. This involve close and keen observation, raising pertinent questions, building models, predicting solutions on basis of models, trying out various possible alternatives and arriving at an optimum solution using experimentation, field work, research and innovation.

To inculcate a spirit of scientific  temper and analytical thinking in the minds of young students, District level NCSC -2019 on the focal theme ‘’ SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION FOR A CLEAN, GREEN & HEALTHY NATION’’ was held at GHSS Ziro, Lower Subansiri on 22 October 2019 in collaboration with Deputy Director of School  Education, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.  Principal Govt. Hr. School, Ziro Sri Hage Taker was present as Chief Guest in the program. The chief guest ,in his welcome address, expressed happiness about organizing the prestigious District Level Event in Lower subansiri District.. He explained about various advancements taking place in Science  and informed that Scientists are doing research on achieving 100% accuracy. Science can be very exciting when it is practiced and applied for the betterment of life on earth, he said and students should nurture this habit to develop research skills for becoming Scientists. He congratulated all the participants and Guide teachers and said that India needs such inspirational programs to generate interest in students towards basic sciences. Total two teams participated from VKV JORAM in the District Level NCSC. Km Likha Ania and Tai Roch bagged second position and Joram Nanu & Sorang Tutu got third position. A total number of 10 Teams from different schools of Lower Subansiri  District participated with their presentation.  Each participant delivered their presentation on the above topic for 6 minutes before a panel of judges. All the top three position holder teams will represent Lower Subansiri District in the State Level National Children Science Congress which will be held in the last week of November 2019.

Sadgamaya Shibir Conducted - VKV Joram

With a view to promoting positive thinking, team spirit and overall dynamism in students, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya  Joram , conducted a one-day Personality Development and Leadership Training camp on Oct 16, 2019 in the school campus.  A total of 30 students from Boomi Secondry school, Joram and VKV, JORAM participated in the camp. The number of activities outlined during the camp included like i) Personality Development, why and how? ii) How to be an organized student ? iii) Story of Rock memorial iv) Health and Hygiene v ) Geet .There were special sessions for geet band kreda Yoga. Teachers of the home school including Principal were the resource persons and took very inspiring and motivating classes on above mentioned topics. The registration of the participants started at 8.00 am by Su.Phurpa Lhamu. The shibir started at 8.30 am with three “ omkras” followed by “ ekya mantra”. The day’s programmes concluded at 3.30 p.m with the speech by the Principal sir followed by Shanti Mantra. The anchoring of the programme was done by Sri Pranjal Kumar Das.

  1. Personality Development, why and how?

Conducted by Sri. Bahubali Sir , He spoke on five- fold development of personality as envisaged by Swami Vivekananda ( physical, mental, emotional, intellectual and spiritual)

  1. How to be an organized student ?

Conducted by Sri Asish Kumar , in this session , he highlighted about how to be an organized student  - competition with co-operation , how to write examination , how to maintain descipline , how to keep the things in systematic way etc.

  1. Story of Rock Memorial -Conducted by Sri Dipok Chetri , He spoke about initiation of the rock memorial , Role of Eknathji Ranade in rock memorial construction,Vivekananda Kendra and Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas.
  2. Health and Hygiene- Conducted by Sri Ashok Singh, this session talked about health and Hygiene  issues like  Changes during Adolcence period and how to cope with it , Balance diet , Personal Hygiene Tips, Regular exercise , Say NO to drugs , Swaach Bharat Abhiyan etc.
  3. Geet- Geet session was conducted by smt. Durga Tripathy and Prabhat Newar, were they trained patriotic songs from sadgamaya to students.
  4. Story- This session was taken by Sri Dharmeswar Tanti . He has told the story of a marble tiles, how the marble tiles got sharp tools and pain from the sculpture and become the masterpiece statue for the tourist and other marble tiles which was resisted become the floor of the museum. The student should bear the  pain,  to become like the marble statue in their life.
  5. Indian culture and values- This session was taken by Smt Durga Tripathi, she has highlighted the Indian Culture & its Values. The culture is everything like the way of behaving with other ,ideas, custom we follow, art, handicraft, religion, food habits, festivals, music and dance are part of the is the birthplace of Hinduism, Budhhism, Jainism,and other religion where we live in unity in diversity. She has highlighted about the art of living with how one should be a great human being. And now how the world is accepting Indian culture. She has told a story of Guru Nanak and a sage relating to Indian culture.
  6. Kreda Yoga- Conducted by Sri Prabhat Newar, Aasas like Surya Namaskar , Tadasana, Vrksasana, Pada- Hastasana , Ardha Chakrasana and Trikonasana were performed by all the participants.

Km Neelam Yesh of Boomi school said,  “I felt happy during  this camp. I made a lots of new friends who are from outside of my school.. It’s an experience, I will never forget. I got a chance to perform on stage which will help me to increase my confidence.” I would now like to attend other such activities as well.”

Nich Kapa of Boomi school  said “I learned so many new things and I was made more aware about the my tradition and culture , Health and Hygyiene  and yoga. I would like to thank Vkv Joram to provide this Opportunity. I learned how valuable is our tradition and culture and it’s really a great experience to participate in this camp. It was a chance for me to meet new friends and to understand the working of vkvs.

Km. Joram Mania of Boomi School said that they got an opportunity to be the part of this ‘Sadgamaya Shibir’ and learned so many valuable knowledge like Personality Development, Health and Hygiene, and yoga varga. And she said that such activities have never been held in their school.  They wish to attend such camp in near future. She extended her gratitude to the VKV family for enlightened with valuable knowledge .

‘Saksham’ National Painting Competition - VKV Joram

Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA), under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, is committed to make oil conservation a National Movement. The Painting, competition aim to raise awareness among youth about practical conservation tips for the conservation of Petroleum products in industrial, transport, agriculture and domestic sector, and how to practice such tips in their daily lives.

Drawing competition is an important aspect for students to ignite awareness about the burning issues of the 21st  century. These competitions motivate them to express their views and explore their creativity through their Art works.

The painting competition was conducted in our school on 15 September 2019 on the topic “ Oil conservation towards healthy and better environment”. A total number of 116 students were participated .

The topic of painting competition was displayed on the school   notice  board  before one week in advance of school level competition. The In-charge of painting competition advised the students to prepare in advance for the  school level competition . This enabled the participants to obtain relevant information from various sources.. This exercise is focused on increasing awareness in young minds for the National cause of Conservation of Fuel and Environment Protection.

According to the rule students were divided into two categories Junior (Class- V to VII) & Senior (Class- VIII). Their drawing were judged on the basis of perspective in line, colour , composition and presentation. Judgment was done by  coordinator Sri. Samiran Barua. All the students were participated with full enthusiasm and the winners were appreciated by our Principal, Sri. Ashok Singh.

The best two painting in each category  Junior Kr. Biri Tath, Class-VI & Kr. Neelam Topu, Class- VI and Senior Km Joram Nanu, Class-VIII & Km. Sorang Tutu, Class-VIII were uploaded on 30 September 2019 on the PCRA website. They were awarded with a certificates from PCRA. Final result will be declared in the month of January 2020.   The students whose paintings are adjudged in the best 100 paintings in each category, on All India basis, will be invited to participate in a National Final round at Delhi. PCRA shall bear the expenses of travel, and the best 100 in each category shall be advised on the same.

Gandhi Jayanthi Celebrated - VKV Joram

The 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Joram on 2nd of October 2019 with great joy and enthusiasm. On the occasion, Sri Dipok Chetri highlighted the importance of the Day. Gandhiji’s life sketch, his organizational capacity, his devotion to freedom struggle, his simple living & high thinking, his principles and ideals, his adherence to social and cultural norms and his thinking on cleanliness were narrated in brief but in persuasive manner.

A Prabhat-Pheri was carried out by all the students and teaching staff up to Joram Market. Sri Joram Tali, Chairperson of Youth Congress Commettee graced the occasion. A Cleanliness drive was also carried out around the school campus by all the students and teachers to create awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and the ongoing cleanliness drive “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” started by our respected Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.
