Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrated - VKV Kimi

Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated in the school auditorium with full fervor and gaiety. The programme started at 10:. 30 am with the sharing of significance of the day by Sri L.N.Handique. Speaking on the occasion, he shared the birth story of Lord Ganesha and his importance among all the deities.

The main highlights of the programme were bhajan singing and idol making competition. Students took part in the competition with full enthusiasm and made colourful idols of Lord Ganesha. Later on, students took the blessings of the deity and prayed for their better future. The programme ended with Ganesh Aarti and distribution of prasadam.

Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations - VKV Kimi

Krishna Janmastami was celebrated in a befitting manner in the school premises. The programme started at 5.30 pm in the presence of parents, well-wishers and students. Sri. L. N. Handique shared the importance of this auspicious day and spoke elaborately about the message of Lord Krishna to the mankind.

Radha Krishna competition was the highlight of the programme which was followed by dances by the students of Class III, IV and V

International Yoga Day - VKV Kimi

5th International Yoga Day was observed with full enthusiasm in the school premises of VKV, ( NEEPCO ), Kimi. In order to mark the occasion, a Yoga session was organized at 8.30 am in the school playground. Apart from the students of Class III to V, NEEPCO staff members also took part in the Yoga session.Speaking on the occasion, L. N. Handique, Principal, VKV, ( NEEPCO ), Kimi shared his thoughts on Yoga and urged the students to make Yoga a part of their curriculum. Furthermore, he said, “Yoga is a medium to connect our body, mind and soul, which can go a long way in bringing about peace and harmony in the society.”

After that, an hour long Yoga session was conducted under the guidance of Sri Rituraj Bhuyan. A total of 12 Asanas, 2 Pranayams and Surya Namaskar were practiced. Along with the postures, participants were also explained about the health benefits of these Asanas and Pranayams. Finally, the Yoga session ended with 3 Omkars and Shanti Mantra.
