Universal Brotherhood Day Celebrated - VKV Tezu
Commemorating the historic address of Swami Vivekananda at World Parliament of Religions in Chicago, on 11th September, 1893 about his unique message of Universal Brotherhood and India’s spirituality to the West, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezu jointly VK Nagar Samiti celebrated the day involving teachers, limited number of VKV Alumni and well-wishers on 11th September, 2020 in the Activity Hall of the school. There were only 35 attendances in the hall following SOPs of the Govt. and around 400 students and parents could join us online to watch the live show sitting at home.
The celebration was started at 9:30 am. Dr Ridhhi Dhawan, Medical Officer (Gynaecologist) General Hospital, Tezu Lohit Dist. was the Chief Guest to grace the occasion and Smt. Sailu Bellai, VKV Alumni was the Guest Speaker to highlight the day. Sri Suresh Kr. Behera, the Principal of the school welcomed the guests, audience and students and parents who were joining online to watch the programme, presented a brief report of the school and its achievement in the previous academic session.
The Guest Speaker, Smt. Sailu Bellai, on her maiden speech, pointed out Swamiji’s toil in reaching Chicago and participating in the World Parliament of Religion, and his message of Universal Brotherhood to the world. She also highlighted Swamiji’s message to the entire world on Sanatan Dharma and its doctrine and the religion which gave his country the epithet of world tolerance and inclusive approach of Hindus and the vision of oneness in the whole existence. Man. Eknathji’s strive to construct Vivekananda Rock Memorial, foundation of Vivekananda Kendra, celebration of 50 years of Vivekananda Rock Memorial under the motto of Ek Bharat Vijai Bharat were some of the highlights of her deliberation.
The Chief Guest, Dr Riddhi Dhawan praised the entire event and guided the children with her inspirational words by saying childhood is the best time of their life. So learn as much as they can in its phase. She promised us to render her help any kind when needed. She also appreciated the entire team of teachers for the well-functioning of the school and producing such good result.
Sri Uttam Kr Patel, a teacher of the school showed a short video pertinent to the construction of Vivekananda Rock Memorial through an LCD projector and uttered how Man Eknathji united the country to erect the national memorial.
There was a short and catchy cultural show performed by teachers and a few students to add the colour to the programme. Km Zuvian Pul, a Class V boy presented Swamiji’s Chicago address in his local language i.e. in Mishmi dialects. Km Dunoya Rondo & Km Weichi Mimi of Class V staged a local Mishmi Dance and teachers could sing a group patriotic song to soothe the milieu. Sri Krulesh Ngadong, Vibhag Pramukh, VK Lohit Vibhag threw light on Kendra activities in Arunachal Pradesh through VKVs and VK Arunjyoti and also proposed vote of thanks.
