World Environment Day was celebrated in the school on 5th June, 2025, with great enthusiasm and participation from students, teachers, and special guests. The theme for this year was “Our Land, our future,” focusing on environmental protection and sustainable living.
Shri. SH Karpoor Babla, Assistant Commandant of the 186 Battalion Namsai, was the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by his troops, who also actively participated in the celebration. In his address, the Assistant Commandant emphasized the urgent need to protect natural resources and encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly habits. He also spoke about offering career counselling to those interested in joining the armed forces.
The programme began with a special morning assembly featuring a speech relevant to the day's significance, a group song. Following this, a tree plantation drive was conducted, during which the Assistant Commandant and his troops, along with school staff and students, planted saplings across the campus, symbolizing collective responsibility towards nature.
In addition, drawing competitions were organized for classes III to IX on the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution”.
The presence and involvement of the 186th Battalion made the celebration especially meaningful and inspiring for the school community.
