Band Camp

In order to hoan the skills in band, performance of which has often stolen the attention of the spectators, a band Training Camp was organized at VKV Tafrogam from 4th to 9th January, 2014.  Three schools namely, VKV Roing, Tafrogam and Sunpura participated in the camp.

Pushpanjali Karyakram

Pushpanjali Karyakram was conducted in all the schools and different centres with great devotion on the culmination of the yearlong celebration of Swami Vivekananda’s 150th Birth Anniversary on 12 January, 2014.  In simple karyakram the students, staff, Parents, well wishers and a large number of people offered floral tribute to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and resolved to spare time to organize the people to understand their potential to work for this mother land.

Matrupooja is another programme conducted for the Class X students. The students with lot of shradha wash the feet of their mothers and offer a simple pooja. The importance of Motherhood and the need of keeping everlasting values like Matru Devo Bhava, Pitru Devo Bhava, Acharaya Devo Bhava, Rashtra Devo Bhava etc in life to lead a meaningful and joyful life is shared to the students and their parents.  It was quite emotional in witnessing the pooja and to listen to the sharing of the impact of the pooja by the students and the mothers after the pooja.

Inter VKVs Essay Writing Competition

Inter VKVs Essay writing Competition was conducted on 30th December, 2013 in all the VKVs. Problem Solving Assessment Examination

Students of Class IX, X and XI appeared in the Problem Solving Assessment Examination conducted by CBSE on 18 of January, 2014.

Alert VKV students saved Zoo at Itanagar from wildfire 

The Class-IX Students of VKV, Chimpu,   garnered wide ovation by showing the presence of mind to inform the Zoo authority while detecting origin of wild fire occurred in the Biological Park at Itanagar on 29th January 2014 at about 10.00 am. The students were doing their project study on wild animals in the park along with their science Teacher, KK Subramanian. Timely information to the zoo authority saved a devastation that would have happened due to the fire engulfed on a very old tree. The leading dailies of Itanagar covered this exemplary act of our students.

 

 

We are all debtors to the world and the world does not owe us anything. It is a great privilege for all of us to be allowed to do anything for the world. In helping the world we really help ourselves.

News Round up April & May 2014

Acharya Prashikshan Shibir 2014:

15th Acharya Prashikshan Shibir was conducted in Kanyakumari from 6th April to 30th April 2014. There were 172 Teachers from the VKVs of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Nagaland, and Andaman.  It was a wonderful thing to see that the teachers from different VKVs located in different regions congregated under the one roof to get inputs on Indian Culture, Kendra ideology, teaching skills and various other topics and activities to enrich and equip themselves as Acharyas in the true sense.

It was overwhelming to see the enthusiasm of the participants. Each and every activity from morning 5 am to 10 pm witnessed the full participation. We could arrange number dignitaries like Dr. N. Gopalakrishnan, Director, IISH, Prof. Jayaraman, English Teaching Expert, and Shri. K. N. Reghu, former Lecturer of RIMSE to enlighten the participants in addition to the series of lecture by Mananeeya Nivedita Didi on Indian Culture and Teaching Skills by Unnikrishnan P.M.,  Mananeeya Balakrishnanji on Mananeeya Eknathji—Mission Personified, Bhanudasji on ‘Team Work’, Pravinji, on ‘Vivekananda Rock Memorial’ and Hanumanta Raoji on ‘Karma Yoga’, Life History of Mananeeya Eknathji by Sri Deepak Khaire, our Pancha Prerana Srot & VKV Teachers by Radha Devi, Karya Paddhati theory and practical by Sri Kamalakant, CCE by Sri Ravi Savadeykar were few other sessions of the APS.  Su Revati Didi, Joint Secretary VKSPV, Sri.Krishna Kumarji CIC, VKVAPT were also present for a short duration to guide the participants in various fields. 

The 15th APS saw the presence of the highest number of teachers in the history of APS. The organizing Team comprising of Sri Kamalakant, Regional Administrative Officer, VKSPV;  Sri Ravi Savadeykar, Principal, VKV Dibrugarh, Sri Ananda  Dutta, VKVAPT Dibrugarh , Smt. Jutika Devi, VKV Ziro and  Sri Gurudev, VKV Tinsukia have done a commendable job for the smooth conduct of the APS.

Vivek Utkarsh Winner’s Trip to Kanyakumari:

The District toppers of the Vivek Utkarsh Quiz Competition conducted on 7th December, 2014 in all the districts of Arunachal Pradesh on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroh were taken to a trip to Kanyakumari. The trip for the Vivek Utkarsh winners started from Dibrugarh on 19th of April.  A total number of 42 students (20 boys and 22 girls) and 6 parents from different districts of Arunachal Pradesh took part in the trip. Sri Shyamal Chakraborty, Principal, VKV Kharsang volunteered to be the overall In-Charge of the trip; Shri Bhaskar Chetia and two other members from ‘School Trip of India’, Su. Deepa Didi, VKVTC Seijosa and Rominso Mam from Arun Jyoti also volunteered the trip and helped it to be a memorable journey for the participants.

A Personality Development Camp for the participants was organized at Kanyakumari on 25 and 26 April. Mananeeya Balakrishnanji, Nivedita Didi, Sri P.M. Unnikrishnanji and Dr. N. Gopalakrishnanji and self could address the students in the camp.  The students participated enthusiastically in all the activities like Prayers, Bhajan Sandhya, Yoga session, Group Discussion and presentation.  They expressed their gratitude to Vivekananda Kendra for organizing such an educational tour and camp for them. Many were in tears while expressing the same.

The participants were also taken to many sights at Kanyakumari, Trivandrum and Chennai. All the participants returned home safely cherishing a treasure of unforgettable memories on 5th May.

Results of Class X and XII, 2014 declared:

CBSE declared the results of Class X and XII on 20th and 29th May respectively for the NE region.  The VKVs of Arunachal Pradesh could exhibit a good result in both the levels.

Recruitment Drive:

A massive recruitment drive was conducted in the months of March, April and May in 19 venues in 10 states. In all the venues more than 280 candidates were interviewed.  In addition to the VKVAPT officials, Sri. S.B.Dixitji former Education Officer in Maharashtra, Sri Panchan Tripathy, Principal VKV Nirjuli,  Sri Anand Mohan Mishra, Principal, VKV Ziro, Sri Vibhuti Bhushan Bal, Principal, VKV Sunpura, who were in vacation volunteered to organize and conduct the interviews in various venues. Team of VKVs Itanagar and Nirjuli also put their effort in conducting the interview in their respective schools.

Commerce Stream in VKV- Nirjuli:

VKV Nirjuli would be starting Commence Stream from the current Academic Session 2014-15 onwards. Now our schools have all the three streams to offer to students.

New Principals have taken charges:

Sri K. Jaisankar who was a Senior Teacher in VKV- Itanagar has taken the charge as the Principal VKV- Jairampur, Smt K.K. Reena, has taken the charge as the principal of VKV- Tafrogam, Su. Bhima Konwar has taken the charge of VKV- Liromoba, Smt. Mitarani Gantayat as the in charge of KGBV- Wessang and Sri Jiten Das has taken charge of VKV- Koloriang. We are sure they would discharge the responsibility of leading the team effectively and bring laurels to VKVs.

 

One should behave with the people in a way in which they will love him and his cause.  Everybody has potential qualities.  We have to utilize them for our purpose.  One must create confidence in the people and mark their aptitude for work.  Your attitude towards to the people must be reflected in your actions, in the work that you put in.  Your action must reflect the noble cause for which you stand.(Sadhana Of Service, Chapter No.17 Lokasamgraha-2)

Gold Medal to Mananeeya Balakrishnanji

It was a great moment for all of us when the His Excellency Governor Lt. General (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minster Sri. Nabam Tuki awarded the Gold Medal to Mananeeya Balakrishnanji on 20th at IG Park during the State Hood day celebrations.  It is indeed a great recognition of 39 years of Kendra’s work in Arunachal Pradesh.

Principal Meet

The second Principal Meet for the session 2013-14 was held on 2nd March, 2014 at VKV Nirjuli. The meet was graced by Kendra elders and other dignitaries. Mananeeya A. Balakrishnanji, Vice President, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Kum. Aparna (Didi) Palkar, All India Vyavastha Pramukh, Sri Pravin Dabholkar, Secretary VKVAPT and Joint General Secretary, VK, Kanyakumari, Dr. Joram Begi, Prant Pramukh, Arunachal Prant Sri Rupesh Mathur, Prant Sangathak, VK Arunachal Prant and other members of VKVAPT were present in the meet.    The meeting was held in a very important juncture: after finishing the year long mega events related to Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroh (SVSSS) and in the eve of Eknathji’s Centenary celebration. Kendra elders congratulated VKVs for celebrating SVSSS programs in a grand manner and thereby leaving an impression among the people. VKVs also should celebrate Eknathji’s centenary celebration in the same manner by considering Eknathji’s special affection towards Arunachal Pradesh and initiating the works of Vivekananda Kendra in the state. The whole year’s activities conducted in VKVs were shown with Power Point presentation. In addition to the Kendra elders illuminations there were also sessions on: Effective Administration,Resource Mobilization and Effective Utilization,Presentation of academic resolution, Directory for Alumni and the follow up so far Government schemes Implementation – Discussion and action plan, Role of Communication in Administration.

Varshik Baithak

The Varshik Baithak of Vivekananda Kendra, Aruanchal Prantwas conducted on 1stMarch 2014. The Daityavan Karyakartas of the three projects namely Arun Jyoti, VKVs and VKIC ((Aruanchal Chapter) were present in the meeting. The main theme of the Baithak was discussion on Mananeeya Eknathji Janma Shati Parva (Birth Centenary of Mananeeya Eknathji).

Releasing of Arohi

The XXII edition of Arohi, the house magazine of VKVAPT, has been released with the theme ‘Extract the nectar’ having myriads of articles from alumni, guests, teachers and students from entire VKVs of Arunachal Pradesh. The online edition of the same is also available in our website www.vkvapt.org.

Felicitation of Principal and teachers

Three Principals and one teacher were felicitated for outstanding performance in conducting Vivek Utkarsh Written Quiz conducted in all the districts of

Arunachal Pradesh by enrolling 8095 students from 184 Govt and private schools.   The felicitation program was conducted during the Principal Meet on 2nd March, 2014. The conduct of the quiz has been acknowledged as one of the milestones achieved during SVSSS. The details of the same have been given below:

Visit of Dr Varda Mohan Nikalje, NCERT

Dr Varda Mohan Nikalje, Assistant Professor, NCERT, Delhi visited VKV Balijan, Itanagar and Nirjuli from 21 to 24 March, 2014. This is her initial visit in relation to English Language Development Program in VKVs of Arunachal Pradesh which is in the pipeline.

Kishori Vikas Anuvartan Shibir

Sneha Vardhini Group of VKV Oyan  conducted  Kishori Vikas Anuvartan Shibir  on 26th Feb 2014  which is the follow up programme of the Krishori Vikash Shibir  conducted in the month of August 2013. 40 out of 70 Girls participated in the Anuvartan Shibir. They have shared their experiences and also the differences which they could make after attending the camp.

Matrupooja

We could conduct matrupooja in all the secondary schools except Sher and Jairampur. The response was overwhelming as most of the parents attended the pooja. Many parents opined that the blend of Value based and modern knowledge is the uniqueness of VKVs and they feel contented as they made right choice by admitting their wards in VKVs.  Mananeeya Balakrishnanji was present in VKV- Balijan to witness the matrupooja.  

Remarkable performance of Students in NTSE State Level   Examination

Out of 25 students selected in the State Level National Level Talent Search examination 14 are from various VKVs.   The performance of VKV- Vivek Vihar was remarkable as 4 of their students were qualified. The National Level examination will be held on 11th May at Itanagar. 

NSS Award to VKV- Teacher

 

Shri. V.N. Uthaman was awarded as the best Programme Officer of NSS for the year 2013-14. He was awarded in a glittering ceremony on 25th March at Banquet Hall, Itanagar in which Shri. Ramesh Negi, IAS, Chief Secretary – Govt. of Aruanchal Pradesh and Principal NERIST and other dignitaries were present. Congratulations to him!

 

APS at Kanyakumari

Acharya Prashikshan Shibir would be starting on 6th April at Kanyakumari. 240 Participants are expected from Andaman, Assam, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. Shri   Anand Dutta (VKVAPT) and Smt. Jutika Saikia (VKV Ziro) have volunteered to be part of the organizing team for this important event VKVAPT set up.

 

 

Every Nation, every man, every woman, must work out one’s own salvation.  Give them ideas- that is the only help they require, and then the rest must follow as the effect.  Ours is to put the chemicals together, the crystallization come in the law of nature.  Our duty is to put ideas into their heads, they will do the rest.  This is what is to be done in India.

News Round-up June & July 2014

VKVAPT Team Meeting

The meeting of VKVAPT Team consisting of cluster in charges & Administrative committee members was held on 1st and 2nd of July at Dibrugarh. Teachers’ recruitment, activities for the session 2014-15, administrative matters related to schools, Affiliation and various pending matters were discussed in the two days meeting.  On 3rd July, The Administrative committee meeting was held to finalize various matters discussed in the Team meeting.

Principals’ Meet

The first Principal Meet of this session was convened from 6th to 8th July in VKV Dibrugarh.  Thirty one Principals and two Vice- Principals were present in the meeting. The meeting was graced by Mananeeya Sri. Hanumanta Raoji, All India Treasurer, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, Dr. Tejum Paduji, Trustee, VKVAPT, Sri Rupesh Mathurji, Prant Sangathak, VK Arunachal Prant and other VKVAPT members.

The meeting started with Swadhaya on selected topic from the book “Eknathji” on 6th evening. The inaugural session was on 7th morning in which Mananeeya Shri Pravinji gave the key note address. The minute academic result analysis of the session 2013-14 and preparing the action plan for the current session based on the discussion, address of Dr Tejum Paduji, session on Academic Planning, Karyapaddhati of Vivekananda Kendra, academic circulars and discussion on Activity Calendar for the session, Mananeeya Eknathji Janma Shati Parva, briefing on the administrative matters etc were the important highlights of the meeting. In the concluding function, Mananeeya Hanumanta Raoji and Pravinji addressed the gathering.

Workshops for the Principals’

A one day workshop was conducted on 9th July for the Principals of the VKVs of Arunachal Pradesh.  Smt Maya Choudhary, a widely known educationist and recipient of National Award for Teachers was the main resource person of the Workshop. The topics like, the multifaceted role of a school Principal, different techniques for smooth Administration, effective implementation of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation were covered in the Workshop. Minute analysis on some case studies of some schools of India brought home many crucial points to the fore which a Principal should be cautious of.  The apt denouement with the story of Spencer Johnson ‘Who moved My Cheese’, she left the message that changing scenario calls for  constant change to prepare one  to embrace transformation to impart best education .She could satisfactorily answer any exigent questions  that were posed in the question answer session. The workshop was beneficial to all as it helped all to think deeply on various aspects of education and role of Principals.

Life Skill Development Workshop for the Students

We could conduct Life Skill Development workshops in VKV- Jairampur and Kharsang with the help of the Resource Persons from This email address is being protected from spambots. Tips for stress management, time management, study techniques, Healthy food habits, Memory Enhancement Techniques, Ways to keep our Brain active, Effective Communication were some of the topics covered in the Workshop. Conducted in an interactive mode, students participated actively in both the venues. Shri Ananda Dutta from VKVAPT attended the workshops in both the venues.

New Hostel Block in VKV- Nirjuli

A Hostel block having the capacity of admitting 50 Girls was consecrated with the Ganapati Homa on 13th July 2014.  The new hostel block is constructed on the 3rd Floor of VKV- Nirjuli main building.  After the Ganapati Homa, a parents’ meeting of the hostellers was held from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm at VKV- Nirjuli.

Illumination by Guest Faculties

Smt. Bhavesh Bhaveja and Dr. Naliniben Mehta retired Professors visited VKV Tafrogam, Sunpura, Amliang and Tezu from 11th to 18th of July. Both the faculties having wide experience in teaching could illuminate the students and the staffs of all the four schools on various subjects. In VKV Tafrogam, Sunpura and Amliang, Science classes were taken with practical.  Interesting laboratory experiments were also demonstrated to the students. In addition to the subject classes, the faculties also narrated interesting motivational stories to the students. Both the guest faculties were escorted by Sri P. K. Pandey, member VKVAPT. The guests were quite enthralled by the dedications of the staffs and the discipline of the students. Students also presented Cultural program and band show before the guest faculties.

Visit of Sri Arvind Rajaram Gore

Shri. Arvind R Gore, noted educationist and freelance education consultant visited VKV- Itanagar, Nirjuli &Vivek Vihar on 22nd to 25thJuly.  He interacted with the staff and students and made assessment about the functioning of these schools. His assessment will be analyzed and used for the betterment of the schools. 

 

 

Maintaining a congenial atmosphere and not disturbing its harmony in any way is a sign of good culture.  Conscientious and organized efforts lead to a collective feeling.  Such an effort on the part of every individual surcharges the whole atmosphere with a sense of collectivity and contributes to the success of the programme.
