In an effort to bridge classroom learning with real-life experiences, the students of Class VIII from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Seijosa, undertook an educational field visit to a wet farm in Darlong Village, Seijosa, on 21st July 2025. The visit was aimed at exploring traditional wet farming practices.
The wet farm is owned and maintained by Smt. Megari Leij, a respected resident of Darlong Village, warmly welcomed the students and teachers. She addressed the group, sharing valuable insights into the step-by-step process of wet paddy cultivation, starting from seed selection, nursery bed preparation, and transplantation to water management, weeding, and harvesting.
Highlighting the integration of agriculture and aquaculture, Smt. Leij also introduced the students to the fish pond adjacent to her farm.
