The school has celebrated the 71st INDEPENDENCE DAY in befitting manner today. All the students and the teachers reported  at 5.30 am .The prabhat phery started at 6.00 am. from the school gate to the Yingkiong Market area. The flag hoisting was done at 7.10 am by the principal followed by the importance of the day. After the school programme, the students were taken to the general ground for March-past and the Band display.


The school has celebrated Shree Krishna Janmastami in befitting manner. The programme started with the welcome address  by the Principal. The importance of the day was highlighted by Km.Anne Aje of Class–IX. The programme was conducted in the school prayer hall where Radha-Krishna competition was conducted for the classes KG-II. Shree Krishna Bhajans completion(among the students of classesVI to IX was the main attraction  of the celebration.)

Moreover, there was a Radha-Krishna drawing competition for the students of classes III-X, just after the conduction of the programme.


The school has celebrated the Universal Brotherhood Day in befitting manner today. The programme was organised in the school assembly ground. A temporary shed was made on the assembly ground with the help of the PWD Yingkiong. The day started with heavy rain since early morning. All the teacher as well as the students reported the school at 8 am.The programme started with the arrival of chief guest Shri Alo Libang,Hon’able Deputy Speaker Legislative Assembly. Following dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The programme started as per the VKV tradition. The welcome speech was delivered by Shri-Madan Kumar Sarkar, Principal VKV Yingkiong. The importance of the day was highlighted by Shri-Bikram Chetry, teacher, VKV Yingkiong. There were colourful traditional dance by the students of various classes .The action rhymes was performed by the children of class-KG. The Yoga demo was shown by the students of class- VI. The refreshment was provided to all the parents as well as the children present on the occasion. The programme concluded with vote of thanks from Shri-Nandalal Sharma, followed by Shanti  Mantra. VKV Yingkiong Celebrated the Azadi -70, Yaad Karo Kurbani,(Independence Day- 2016) in befitting manner. All the teachers as well as the students reported to school at 5.00 Am. The programme started with the prabhat Ferry from the school round the Yingkiong Township. The school flag hoisting was done at 6.30 Am by the Principal Shri-M.K.Sarkar, followed by singing of national Anthem, Importance of the Day and the singing of patriotic song by the Children.

After the completion of the school programme the students were taken to the General ground Yingkiong for the March-past and the cultural programme. The school had participated in four important events- 1.Marchpast  2.Mock Drill on Earthquake  3.Band Display   4.Adi Cultural Dance.

The school begged the first prize in March-past defeating about 20 March-past contingents from various schools of Yingkiong. The Mock Drill on Earthquake was a wonderful awareness programme which was appreciated by one and all presence in the Programme. To make the programme successful the school has constituted the School Disaster Management Committee under the Chairmanship of the principal of the school.

 The children of Class-IV and V Performed the Adi patriotic cultural dance which appealed the vary intact of Adi culture and tradition. The another attraction of the programme was Band Troop of VKV, Yingkiong which had echoed the whole Yingkiong Valley.

Awareness cum Capacity Building Programme’ organised by District Disaster Management

A day long programme on Disaster Management was organised in the school prayer hall on 27/07/2016 by the District Disaster Management Department, Upper Siang. The programme started as per the VKV traditions. The welcome Speech was delivered by Shri-Rohit Chetry. The programme was attended by the following Guests.

  The Chief Guest,Shri Remo Kamki, DC Upper siang, emphasized the importance of imparting such training to the school going children. He also appealed to the teaching staffs and the students to spread the knowledge acquired from the demonstration to others. The other important informations were: - The First Aid tips and demonstration was conducted by the Doctors. The Fire accident tips along with demonstration were conducted by the Fire brigade officials. The earth Quake tips were given by the District Disaster Management Department. The overall programme was coordinated by Shri-T.Tashi, DDMO,Yingkiong. There was a display of the sketch map of the school campus by Shri Rohit Chetry,who highlighted the vulnerable areas to be affected during earth quake and other natural calamities. The mock drills on different Disasters like Earth Quake, Fire accidents, Floods; Landslides, search and rescue operation etc were the main attractions of the programme. The programme was overall very fruitful and instructive for the children. The programme anchoring as well as vote of thanks was tendered by Shri-Nandalal Sharma. The programme concluded with Shanti Mantra.
