Miss Radha Pradhan highlighted the significance of Raksha Bandhan — stating that it is not merely a festival of brothers and sisters, but a celebration of Indian values, culture, and emotional bonds.
As per tradition, the Principal offered Rakhi to “Om” and a sacred tree while chanting Vedic mantras, sending out the message that protection is not only for human beings but also for nature and the environment.
Assam Rifles Commandant, Soldiers, Administrative officials, including the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Jairampur, the Police Inspector, the Branch Manager, and others, were also tied Rakhis — symbolising unity and mutual respect.
In his address, the Principal prayed to God to grant students the strength to stay away from bad habits. He urged them to live for values, safeguard culture, and uphold discipline and respect.
The programme also recalled historical and mythological stories related to Raksha Bandhan — such as those of Indrani–Indra, Rani–Yama–Yamuna, Draupadi–Shri Krishna, and Roxana–Porus — emphasising that this bond goes beyond blood relations.
The broader significance of Sawan Purnima was also highlighted — marking the conclusion of the Amarnath Yatra, the devotion of the Kanwar pilgrimage, the Radha-Krishna Jhula Utsav, Balaram Jayanti, Hayagriva Jayanti, and Sanskrit Day.
