NAHARLAGUN, Sept 15: Bharat Jago Daud, as a reminiscence to Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroh, was organized in the city of Naharlagun to pay tribute to the great spiritual guru  Swami Vivekananda.

The whole nation is celebrating the 150th Birth Anniversary of her great son Swami Vivekananda, of which this mini marathon a unique component; a leap forward to the rousing call to the mass of youth for the service and integrity of our nation. Around 500 fervent participants gathered at Chief Councilor’s building, Naharlagun, the starting point of the race, to run for the sake of our nation. Special Guest Sri Leki Phuntsoji, former Director, IPR, Arunachal Pradesh flagged off thedaud as an initiation of the same  in the benign presence of Convener, SVSSS Dr Lobsang Jompa, Sri Panchanan Tripathy, Principal, VKV Nirjuli, teachers, well-wishers, VKVians and many spectators. He, in his address to the runners at the starting point, reiterated the past glories of our great nation and narrated how it could reach to its greatest height of spirituality under the prime leadership of Swami Vivekananda, an incredible spiritual reformist mother India has ever produced.

A 4 day Teachers’ Orientation Camp for Sanskrit teachers was conducted from 25th to 28th August, 2013 at VKV- Nirjuli. 30 Teachers from all the VKVs of Aruanchal Pradesh attended the camp. Dr. Unnikrishnan, the Head, Literature Department, Government Sanskrit College, Trivandrum and Dr C.N.Vijayakumari, the Head,  Sanskrit Department, University of Kerala were the Resource persons for the camp. The focuses of the camp were Sanskrit Sambhashanam, Pronunciation, clarification of doubts in Grammar, Teaching of slokas and poem with proper tune, demonstration of communicative Sanskrit teaching skills. It was noteworthy that all the sessions including inaugural, concluding, experience sharing everything was only in Sanskrit.

 Kr Mirnga Ngomle’s model was adjudged as the best theme and 2nd in presentation.
State Level: Kr Mirnga Ngomle’s model was adjudged Third in presentation and First position in theme. He would represent the state in regional Level likely to be held in the month of January 2015.

Duration of Shibir: 3days (from 29-08-2014 to 31-08-2014)
Target Group: Class VII Students
Attendance: 97 (43 girls + 54 boys)

Objectives of the Shibir:

• To improve the personality of the student
• To develop positive thinking
• To lead a routine life for the bright future
• The way of action
• To motivate the student be stress free
• To make them free from fear of the examination
• To make them aware of the Indian culture
• To inspire themselves through the philosophy of Vivekananda to become an asset to the nation
