Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar celebrated National Mathematics Day in the school assembly with great enthusiasm. The programme began with an address by Km. Unni Doyom, who explained the significance of the day and highlighted the contributions of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan.
Km. Simrit Acharya confidently recited multiplication tables up to 20, showcasing strong numerical skills, while Km. Niyomi Jini mesmerized everyone with a beautiful poem related to mathematics.
Adding pride to the occasion, our school secured 1st position at the district-level art competition on Srinivasa Ramanujan, won by Km. Gonya Riba of Class VIII. The celebration successfully promoted interest and appreciation for mathematics among students.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Basar, celebrated National Unity Day on 31st October 2025 with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The programme aimed to promote the message of unity, integrity, and security among the students and staff.
The celebration began with the unity pledge, where all students and teachers took an oath to preserve the unity and integrity of the nation.
The significance of the day was beautifully delivered by Kr. Don Gusar of Class VIII, who highlighted the life, vision, and contribution of Sardar Patel in uniting India. He emphasized the importance of staying united and working together for the progress of the nation.
The celebration successfully reminded everyone of the strength that lies in unity and the responsibility of every citizen to contribute towards building a strong and united India.

The school-level National Children’s Science Congress was successfully organized in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Basar, with great enthusiasm and active participation of students.
 The program commenced with the chanting of 3 Omkara followed by Sahana Vavatu, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Thereafter, Sri Kapil Bhagat addressed the gathering with an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of the program in nurturing scientific temperament, creativity, and innovation among students.
  Following this, the children delivered their presentation on various scientific themes, showcasing their research, creativity, problem-solving skills, awareness of local issues, and innovative ideas for sustainable development.
  The judging panel carefully evaluated each presentation, and marks were awarded on the basis of originality, scientific approach, presentation skills, and relevance of the topic. Based on the scores, the winner was selected to represent the school at the district-level competition.

On 29th Aug 2025, our school, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar had observed ‘National Sports Day’ in the school premises Km. Nyarik Bam student of class VII, gave a speech on the day by highlighting the objective of the day we celebrate National Sports Day to commemorate the birth of hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chand, and highlighting the importance of sports and fitness in our daily life.
 Before the commencement of the game, all the students and teachers took a sports Oath led by Sri Veera Balaji R, pledging to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
 Various fun activities were conducted for the students of different classes. For classes 1 to 5, games like musical chairs and shoe lace tying were organized, which created excitement and joy among the younger children. For classes 6 to 8, competitive events such as Relay race, water filling, and the traditional local Galo game Nyarka Hinam were held. The students participated actively and showcased their sporting spirit.
 At the end of the program, a prize distribution ceremony was organized. The winners of different events were honored with prizes, which were distributed by two parents and our principal sir. The celebration not only brought out the talent of the

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with the flag hoisting ceremony by our respected Principal, followed by the National Anthem. Soon after, an ITBP Major visited the school and delivered a motivational speech, encouraging students to remain disciplined, responsible, and devoted to the nation.
 As part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, students and staff actively participated by displaying the National Flag in their homes, spreading the message of unity and pride in our national identity.
Post the school programme, our students participated in the Independence Day celebrations at Todak Memorial General Field. Both boys and girls proudly took part in the parade, representing the school with discipline and honour. As part of the cultural events, the students of Class 5 presented a meaningful skit on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat”, creating awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Our school secured 3rd prize in the parade and 2nd prize in the skit competition, bringing pride to the entire VKV Basar family. The celebration instilled a strong sense of patriotism among students and staff, inspiring everyone to contribute towards the progress and well-being of the nation.

On June 5th, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar organized Environment Day Celebrations. Principal Didi, teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and all beloved students participated.
    The main aim of the event was to increase students' awareness of the importance of the environment and promote eco-friendly practices. Kr Dotem Basar of class VII delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and our duties as future caretakers of the planet. The theme for World Environment Day is “Our land. Our future.” # We are generation restoration. #Beat plastic pollution.
    After the assembly, all the students, Principal Didi, along with teachers, planted the sapling and a local handmade or recycled dustbin brought by the students. These were planted and installed in different parts of the school campus to promote greenery and cleanliness.
An awareness rally was conducted by students and teachers to spread messages about saving the environment, reducing plastic use, and promoting sustainable practices. The rally covered key locations in Basar town and attracted the attention and appreciation of local residents.
To mark the occasion meaningfully, students and teachers visited the site of the upcoming building at Bam and conducted a tree plantation drive, contributing to the generation of the future educational space.

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar celebrated the festival of Vasant Panchami cum Saraswati Puja on 3rd February 2025, to seek the blessing from the Goddess of learning. Students were asked to report to school at the usual time in their traditional attires. The celebration started at 9:00 am positively. The puja was performed by Shri Dipankar Sarkar while the teaching staff and the children’s’ recited the mantras after him. 
    Students kept their books in front of the puja pedestal. ‘Saraswati bhajan’ was sung by some girls of class VII which was led and followed by all teachers and the students which made the whole environment devotional. Students throng at the puja mandapam to offer Pushpanjali and chandan tika on their foreheads. The puja was completed at 10:00 am. Then prasadam (Porridge prepared by Bhaiya and Didi) was served to all. The children looked happy and satisfied. The celebration ended at 11:00 am with the children leaving the school campus.

    Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar celebrated its 76th Republic Day on the school campus with great glory. The Republic Day function started at 7:30 am with the flag hosted by our Principal Didi. Commending the function Principal Didi gave a speech on how Republic Day is important to Indians and on this day the constitution of India came into being replacing the Government of India Act 1935 and making India a Republic nation. Our school program ended with the National Anthem and the distribution of sweets to everyone present there.
    After completion of the school program, the entire family of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar with students headed towards the general field to celebrate the Republic Day with everyone together. Our school took part in the Parade. 
    Our school girls got 3rd prize in March past. The program comes to an end with the distribution of a token of love by Deputy Commissioner Sir of Leparada to all the participants who had participated and secured positions.
