On 12th January 2025, Vivekananda Kendra vidyalaya Basar had celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti (National youth day) with much grandeur and zeal in the Tribal cultural hall Central Kargu Gamge Basar. This day mark as the significant day in the history of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya’s, as it is the birth anniversary of our immortal Swami Vivekananda, the cyclonic monk of India. In total more than 200, students and parents attended the celebration.
Students, parents and well wishers gather from everywhere to witness the cultural program in the said location at 10:00 a.m. As it is customary, the program started with the lightning of the lamp by the Chief Guest Dr. Mary Nanom Taloh ma’am, extra assistant commissioner (EAC), Basar and chanting of three omkaras along with Sahana vavatu.
A warm welcome speech was accorded by our Principal didi to join the great celebration. Students of class VIII performed a beautiful welcome dance followed by the felicitation of chief guest and school supporting member (SSG members) by our Principal didi. 
Students beautiful elaborated by the significance of the day. The culture program troops get ready to give a blasting performance on the stage. Traditional local dance, group dance, patriotic song and skit of pictographic memory of Swamiji were performed by our students and students of MMR Gurukul School perform a patriotic song which left the audience gaping with awe and admiration.
Chief Guest, Dr. Mary Nanom Taloh EAC ma’am, in her speech remembers the great soul for his Himalayan effort to restore India's glorious past. She quoted the famous saying of Swami Vivekananda “Arise awake and stop not till the goal is reached”. Ma’am has appealed the students not to limit the scope of education in mere learning of book an educated them that really education is the education which make an individual discipline human being and which continue towards healthy growth of family, society and a nation which ultimately lead to good education and to follow the teaching of Swami Vivekananda.
The program comes to happy conclusion at around 12:00 p.m. by offering flowers on the portrait of Swami Vivekananda and Bharat Mata and by chanting Shanti Mantra.

VIVEKANANDA KENDRA VIDYALAYA BASAR
PUSPHANJALI – I
Venue: UPS Town

On 9th January 2025, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Basar conducted Puspshanjali program on the occasion of “Samartha Bharat Parva” in the Upper Primary School Town. The assigned mentor and participating students was conducted pusphanjali program to make them aware about the importance of Samartha Bharat and the greatest contribution of Swami Ji.
    The program was started by lighting of lamp by chief guest Shri Goto Riba, Headmaster of UPS Town, followed by Mangalacharan. The welcome address was given by Smt. Kunsang Tamang followed by the felicitation of the chief guest.
    Swadesh mantra was delivered by Km. Jumbi Bam student of class VIII which was lead and follow by all the participants and teachers. The significance of the day was delivered by Shri Kapil Bhagat. In his speech he delivered a warm introduction of Swami Ji and why we celebrate Samartha Bharat Parva. Our students of class VII performed a Patriotic song followed by a group dance.

International Yoga Day  was celebrated with full of spirit and joy at VKV,Basar.The celebration was started with lighting of the lamp by Principal didi (Su.Bhima Konwer).The programme was for one and half hour. The significance and importance of yoga day was delivered by a student of Class -VIII Km. Dakmi Bam.

  The session of yoga started with yoga prarthana (prayer) .The students of classes VI and VIII were present. The teachers , Su Kenny Hokom and Su. Yabi Yomgam were the incharges. Some students, Km. Sunidhi Acharya ,Km.Dakmi Bam &Km.Zirmi Gara etc  demonstrated Tadasana,  Chakrasana, ushtrasana, Makarasana and various asanas of yoga.

A sum of around fifty (50) students comprising both boys and girls were being called by DDSE Leparada at Multipurpose Cultural Hall,Basar. The three escort teachers were also sent from the school along with the students for public program i.e  International Yoga Day which was organized by District Administration ,Basar.

The remaining around forty (40 )students along with other teachers done  yoga at school.

According to yoga protocol after doing various asanas ‘sankalp’ has been taken and the program concluded with Sarva Bhabantu.

S.P Basar had visited to VKV-BASAR to interact with students and motivated to all the students by sharing his experiences during his school time. He shared how he have achieved his goal and motivated to hold his position.

The programme was well planned and successful. The students are truly appreciable as they were trying to give their best performance in every competitions.It helped students to cater learning and boosting their confidence level.They were more focussed to give their best performance in every competitions.

The Library week has started from 20th November 2021 and ends on 26th November 2021.On the first day of Library week there was a book display and it was tastefully decorated. Principal didi (Su. Bhima Konwer) has done inaugural of book display by lighting of the lamp; as well as given thoughtful speech on how best the students can make use of the library. Didi has motivated and encouraged the students to read more books as well as told them the importance and benefits of reading books.

Many competitions were held in Library week and maximum students have actively participated in the competition and tried to give their best in every competitions. They were excited and thrilled with joy.

*On 22nd November 2021 *Poem Recitation Competition* was held for the Students of Class I to V.

*Book Review Competition* was held for Class VI to VIII students. Total participants of Poem Recitation Competition and Book Review Competition were 210 out of 253 students.

*On 23rd November 2021*, The Extempore Speech Competition was held for Class I to VIII students. Total 200 students participated in this competition.

*On 24th November, 2021* The Story Telling Competition was held for Class I to VIII students. Total 193 students participated.

*On 25th November 2021* The Handwriting Competition was held for Class I and II.

Programme was celebrated successfully. After Bhajan Sandhiya followed by MCQs quize was conducted for all the teachers on book The Story of Vivekananda Rock Memorial.On this Sadhana Diwas we have concluded MANTHAN PARVA with great note. After completing "The Vivekananda Rock Memorial Book" we have learn many things from Ma.Eknathji's Life how wisely he was taken responsibility to construct a vivekananda rock memorial and overcome many challenges in his way to goal.

On 21st October 2021,our School participated in 29th National children's Science Congress 2021,the name of the students are Km. Zumir Ete and Km. Iter Nyodu of Class VII. Out of 5 group's they both secured 1st position in District level National children's Science congress. They were selected for State level competition which is going to be held on the month of November 2021.

Programme was conducted successfully. Preparation of Gita chanting in every classes was practicing a month ago before the competition which have yield good performances by the students. They have shown great enthusiasm in chanting Gita.

Gita Competition were held under categories Group A, B and C. Total participants enrolled for the competition was 152. The competition started at 9: am at VKV-BASAR. The whole atmosphere vibrated with divine energy with chanting of blessed participants

He spoke about swamiji and brotherhood day. He said he is very glad to being a part of vkv family. He advised our students and karyakartas to follow their teachers ,listen to them carefully and realize their thought. He said about inclusive approach that one should have inclusive thought acceptance should be there exclusive thought should be discarded from mind. He advised to students to co-operate with school when it will open. He said he is always there for VKV-BASAR he love to serve for society through vkv he would love to serve nation .

Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated with lot of joy and enthusiasm among teachers, students and well-wishers of the Vivekananda kendra. Programme effectively conveyed the importance and significance of the occasion. Principal Su. Bhima Konwer greeted the, guests and other invitees in her welcome address. 3 Students of class VII presented a desh bhakti geet. Su. Yabi Yomgam (Hindi Teacher of school) spoke on the significance of the occasion she highlighting Swami Vivekananda’s remarkable contribution to India’s spirituality. Programme was conducted successfully it went as per the expectation and planning.

Karyakartas of Vivekananda kendra BASAR were also participated in the programme. We conducted Swadhya varga alone with teachers and the karyakartas of VKAJ Basar. After discussions in Swadhya varga we have good understanding of brotherhood and inclusive approaches.
