The festival of Janmashtami was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm in our institution on 16th August 2025. The programme was conducted in the school prayer hall with the active participation of 184 students, 15 parents, and staff.
The celebration began with the Lighting of the Lamp by our respected Principal, Sri Ashis Chatterjee, followed by the chanting of three Omkaras and the prayer “Sahana-Vavatu”, which created a spiritual and serene atmosphere.
Thereafter, Mr. Mahesh Kr. Sharma enlightened the gathering with a thoughtful address on the Importance of the Day, highlighting the values and teachings of Lord Krishna. The audience was then mesmerized by a special Krishna Bhajan, melodiously presented by Mr. Jang Bahadur Sonar, which added a devotional fervor to the occasion.
To mark the start of the cultural events, the judges of the day, Su. Mainu Dutta and Smt. Meera Gohain Saikia was warmly invited and felicitated.
The main attraction of the celebration was the House-wise Dance Competition, where participants from all four houses—
•    Maharishi Valmiki House
•    Maharishi Visvamitra House
•    Maharishi Patanjali House
•    Maharishi Vasishtha House
showcased their talent through graceful and vibrant performances based on Krishna’s life and teachings. The competition filled the auditorium with energy, devotion, and applause.
Adding to the charm of the celebration was the Radha-Krishna Costume Show presented by students of Classes I to V. The young children, dressed as Radha and Krishna, captivated the audience with their innocence and lively presence.
