VKV PTC Banderdewa successfully hosted the Eknathji Memorial Football Tournament for the Papum Pare Cluster from 23rd to 24th October 2025. The PTC authority extended full logistic support, including the playground and match officials, for the smooth conduct of the event.

Participating teams included VKV Sher, VKV Dolungmukh, VKV Seijosa, VKV Itanagar, VKV Balijan, and VKV Nirjuli. VKV Sher, VKV Dolungmukh, and VKV Seijosa reported on 22nd October afternoon, while VKV Itanagar, VKV Balijan, and VKV Nirjuli arrived on the morning of 23rd October. The teams that arrived on 23rd returned the same evening.

After the evening prayer on 22nd October, all teams assembled for the group division through a lottery system. The pools were as follows:

Group A: VKV Sher, VKV Banderdewa, VKV Dolungmukh, and VKV Itanagar

Group B: VKV Balijan, VKV Nirjuli, and VKV Seijosa


A briefing session was conducted by Sri Manuj Dutta (Coordinator), Sri Ashis Chatterjee (Principal, VKV PTC Banderdewa), Sri Govind Vishwakarma, and other escort teachers, focusing on fair play and discipline.

The inaugural function was held on 23rd October, with Sri Dusu Kaling, Principal, APPSC PTC Banderdewa, as the Chief Guest. The event began with flag hoisting, an oath-taking ceremony for fair play, and a devotional start—both teams sitting in Mandala, performing Namaskar Mudra, chanting three Omkaaras, followed by Shanti Paath and a patriotic song.

Matches commenced at 6.00 a.m. and continued till 1.00 p.m. at the PTC playground. Each match concluded with a reflective session, where players sat in Mandala, chanted Om eleven times, practiced Jnana Mudra, and recited the Shanti Mantra, emphasizing the spirit of discipline and self-awareness.

The valedictory function was held on 24th October 2025, with Sri Matin Ratan, DySP, APPSC PTC Banderdewa, as the Chief Guest. He addressed and blessed the participants with inspiring words before distributing medals and certificates to the winners and participants.

The tournament concluded peacefully, with no injuries or conflicts reported. The entire event was conducted smoothly in a spirit of sportsmanship, discipline, and harmony.
