
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been actively promoting space science awareness and education among students through various outreach programs. Two of our students, Km. Muying Ngukir and Km. Emume Mihu from VKV SUNPURA had the opportunity to participate in these prestigious programs, which aimed to inspire and educate the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators. The program started from 19th May to 30th May 2025 at North Eastern Space Application Centre, Shillong (NESAC)
Over the 12-day programme, all the students were engaged in a wide range of learning activities. Some key sessions included:
They also learned about the RH (Rohini)-200 sounding rocket, its launch process, and trajectory. Another exciting topic was India’s Human Spaceflight Mission, including the Gaganyaan Mission. They even learned about India's contributions to Antarctic research, including the Bharati Antarctic Station. They were divided into groups and assigned specific space-related topics. Each group gave a presentation and participated in a quiz competition, which tested their understanding and teamwork. The programme also included field trips. They visited the Guwahati Planetarium, Eastern Air Command, and the Don Bosco Museum. Km. Emume Mihu secured 1st position in the project activity and was awarded a trophy for the same. They were also awarded with participation certificate for participating in the YUVIKA-2025.
