VKV Tafrogam celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm. The program began in the morning with a flag-hoisting ceremony on the school premises. Teaching and non-teaching staff, and students gathered together, and the National Anthem was sung as the Tricolor was hoisted by Smt. Manisha Devi, principal. After the flag hoisting, our school band group and parade group went to the Jubilee ground, Tezu, to participate in the Independence Day celebrations there. They gave a wonderful display, and the parade group brought glory to the school by winning the Second Prize in the competition.
Meanwhile, on the school campus, a colorful cultural program was organized. Students presented patriotic songs, dances that showcased the rich heritage of our nation and reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters. The students performed a short drama on Swami Vivekananda as a Patriot Hero. The performances were lively, inspiring, and filled with patriotic fervor.
An “on-the-spot poem writing competition” on the theme of Patriotism was organized for the students from classes III to X. The participants beautifully explained their patriotic feelings through their poems. The winners were awarded prizes during the Independence Day celebration at the school.
In the evening, at 4 o’clock, the Flag Retreat Ceremony was conducted with due honor and respect, marking the conclusion of the day’s celebrations. The entire day was memorable and instilled in everyone a deep sense of unity, patriotism, and pride in our nation.
