Celebrating the 150 years of Vande Mataram at VKV Tafrogam
The 150 Years of Vande Mataram was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit in our school on 7th November 2025. The programme aimed to honor the iconic national song and to remind everyone of its importance in India’s freedom struggle.
The celebration began with the soulful rendition of the Vande Mataram song, sung by the students and teachers with pride and devotion. After this, the morning assembly was conducted as usual, including prayer, pledge, and thought for the day, all centered around the theme of patriotism and unity.
Following the assembly, Sri Rajiv Singh, teacher of VKV Tafrogam, delivered an inspiring speech on Vande Mataram. He spoke about its historical significance, its composer Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, and how the song became a symbol of courage and national identity during the freedom movement. His words motivated the students to appreciate and uphold the values that Vande Mataram stands for.
After the speech, a role play performance was presented by the students, showcasing the lives of great Indian women leaders such as Rani Lakshmi Bai, Kanaklata Barua, Indira Gandhi, and Sarojini Naidu. The performances highlighted their bravery, patriotism, and contributions to the nation’s progress. A poster display on the theme “Vande Mataram” was also organized, where students exhibited their creativity and love for the nation through beautifully designed posters
Towards the end of the celebration, short videos were screened, depicting the history and significance of the 150 years of Vande Mataram. The visuals offered an Insightful glimpse into how this song continues to inspire generations of Indians.
The celebration was a memorable tribute to the spirit of Vande Mataram and the glory of our nation.
