Outreach Program at Govt. UP School by VKV Raga

On January 8, 2024, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Raga, conducted an inspiring outreach program at Government Upper Primary School (GUPS), Raga-1, as part of Vivekananda Jayanti, also celebrated as National Youth Day.
The team from VKV Raga comprised teachers-in-charge Shri Durga Bahadur Sonar and Shri Shreyas Adhikari, along with 17 enthusiastic students from Classes V and VIII. The event, held on the host school’s premises, witnessed active participation from both students and teachers of Government Upper Primary School.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, accompanied by the chanting of the Shanti Mantra. This was followed by a melodious welcome song, Jinke Ojasvi Charano Se, performed by the students of Class V. Shri Durga Bahadur Sonar then delivered a captivating speech on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, inspiring the young audience to embody his values and ideals.
Next, Shri Pabo Jeri, the esteemed headmaster of Government Upper Primary School, addressed the assembly. He shared his heartfelt appreciation for the efforts of VKV in Arunachal Pradesh, lauding their role in fostering education and cultural values in the region. Shri Jeri also extended his gratitude to the VKV team for organizing such a meaningful program.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Shri Shreyas Adhikari, followed by the traditional chanting of the Shanti Mantra and the Bharat Mata Aarti. The inclusion of the Aarti, a first for the host school, was met with great enthusiasm by all present. After the program, an essay writing competition was conducted in the school on the life of Swami Vivekananda. The event saw 30 participants in all.
The program was notable for its full attendance of Government Upper Primary School students, who actively participated with the support and cooperation of their teachers. It was a momentous occasion that strengthened the cultural and historical ties between the two schools, fostering a sense of unity and shared identity.
