Prerana Shivir Inspires Class VII Students at VKV Raga

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Raga organized a two-day **Prerana Shivir** for Class VII students on **27–28 June 2026** to foster discipline, patriotism, leadership, cultural awareness, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The camp was inaugurated by **Shri Mantu Gyadi, District Project Officer, Kamle**, who emphasized the role of education in developing scientific thinking, discipline, honesty, and responsible citizenship.
Students participated in a variety of enriching sessions, including music, health and hygiene, anti-bullying and drug abuse awareness, road safety, traditional local songs, bamboo crafting, patriotic song practice, and outdoor games. **Smt. Techi Hanyir, Superintendent of Police, Kamle**, sensitized students on bullying, drug abuse, and responsible behaviour, while **Dr. Gamik Hangkar** conducted an interactive session on personal hygiene, nutrition, immunization, adolescent health, and disease prevention.
Traditional learning formed an important part of the camp, with students learning the Namlo prayer song from **Smt. Aruna Maga** and the basics of bamboo basket weaving from **Shri Golom Dhol**, promoting appreciation for indigenous culture and craftsmanship.
The second day began with morning prayer and **Shram Sanskar**, followed by a session on traditional Gale making by **Smt. Yatu Kigam**. During the valedictory session, **Smt. Ebasi Maga** inspired students with the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and the ideals of VKV students, encouraging them to uphold discipline, character, service, and patriotism.
The camp concluded with students sharing their experiences and expressing gratitude for the valuable lessons learnt. Overall, the Prerana Shivir successfully strengthened the students' moral values, leadership qualities, cultural awareness, health consciousness, and commitment to the ideals of **"Man-Making and Nation-Building."**
