Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated on 11 September 2026 at VKV Khazalang to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s historic address at the Parliament of the World’s Religions, Chicago, in 1893.

The programme was graced by Shri Nichang Jangju, ZPM, Nafra, as Chief Guest and Shri Sambhu Siongju as Special Guest, along with SSG members, Gaon Burahs, parents, well-wishers, staff and students. The celebration began with the lighting of the lamp and Mangalacharan.

Su. Kamala Devi highlighted the significance of the day and Swami Vivekananda’s message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—“the world is one family.” Students presented the Chicago Address, Swadesh Mantra, Vivek Vani, traditional and semi-classical dances, mimes, a skit on Swamiji’s life, and his inspiring quotations.

The school annual magazine AROHI 2025–26 was officially released by the Chief Guest. In their addresses, the guests appreciated the school’s efforts in preserving culture and urged students to follow Swami Vivekananda’s ideals of man-making and nation-building. The importance of water conservation was also emphasised.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Su. Temre Chozom Didi, followed by the Shanti Mantra.

Raksha Bandhan Outreach Programme | VKV Khazalang

A Raksha Bandhan Outreach Programme was organised on 28th August 2026 with the objective of spreading the message of love, respect, gratitude, and brotherhood in the community.

A team of five students, led by Su. Kamala Devi and Deepika Nath, teachers, visited various workplaces, including the ITBP Naafa, DC Office, ADC Office, Hospital, SBI, Postal Service, and DDSE Office. During the visits, the students and teachers tied Rakhis to the officers and staff as a symbol of the sacred bond of protection, mutual respect, and harmony.

Su. Kamala Devi introduced the gathering to Mananeeya Balakrishna, a dedicated Jeevanvrati of Vivekananda Kendra, who was trained directly under the inspiring guidance of Mananeeya Eknathji Ranade, the founder of Vivekananda Kendra. As a mark of respect and gratitude, the Raksha Bandhan celebration was dedicated to his memory.

The outreach programme provided the students with a valuable opportunity to interact with people serving society and to understand the deeper significance of festivals and the values of social responsibility, gratitude, respect, and community harmony.

The programme concluded on a meaningful note, leaving the participants with a renewed sense of fraternity and a deeper understanding of the spirit of Raksha Bandhan.

Independence Day Celebration | VKV Khazalang

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Khazalang celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great patriotic fervour on 15 August 2026 at the school playground. The programme began at 9:00 a.m. in the presence of the Chief Guest, Shri Rajesh Dajangju, National Membership Convenor, BJP (Arunachal Pradesh), and Guest of Honour, Shri Hano Sangchoju, Gaon Burah of Khazalang Village.

The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Chief Guest, followed by the National Anthem. Students presented a disciplined March Past, Samatha Display, Dumbbell and Hula Hoop displays, accompanied by the school band.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of “Unity in Diversity” and paid tribute to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices made India's independence possible.

The cultural programme showcased India's rich heritage through patriotic dances, Miji, Monpa, Bihu, Nepali and Bharatanatyam dances. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by the Principal.

The celebration was attended by the School Supporting Group, parents and villagers and concluded on a memorable note of patriotism, unity and national pride.

Parents' Meeting - VKV Khazalang

The First Parents’ Meeting for the academic session 2026–27 was held with the aim of strengthening the bond between the school and parents and discussing the academic and overall development of the students.

The programme began with a prayer, followed by a Welcome Address by Su. Deepika Nath and a melodious welcome song by Class IV. Su. Kamala Devi presented the Kendra Parichaya, introducing the parents to the vision, activities, and motto of Vivekananda Kendra.

The teaching and non-teaching staff and members of the School Supporting Group were introduced. The Principal and Sri Achimbo Rasu shared words of guidance, emphasizing the importance of parents’ active involvement in their children’s education and development.

The results were announced and the toppers were awarded medals by their parents, making the occasion memorable. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Su. Deepika Nath and the chanting of the Shanti Mantra.

The Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotism and enthusiasm in our school on 26th January 2026. The celebration began with a Prabhat Pheri at 6:00 a.m., in which students and staff participated enthusiastically, carrying the National Flag and placards with patriotic messages through the nearby streets.

The National Flag was then hoisted by the Principal, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The significance of the day was highlighted by the Principal, who inspired students to perform their duties selflessly and become responsible citizens. Students also presented a patriotic song expressing love and respect for the nation.

At 10:00 a.m., our school joined the villagers and parents at General Ground, Khazalang, to celebrate Republic Day together. Students showcased various performances, including Band Display, Dumbbell exercises, Patriotic songs, Traditional and Local dances, and Classical dance. The performances were highly appreciated by the Chief Guest and the audience present.

The celebration was successful and memorable, fostering a strong sense of patriotism and community involvement.
