
The Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated at VKV Khazalang at 10 a.m. in the school prayer hall to commemorate the historic speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda at the First Parliament of World Religions in Chicago in 1893. Shri Deru Zongluju, Chairman, Jangru Buchong Wubang, Nafra was the Chief Guest, and Shri Lobsang Khiluju, President of Khazalang and Lapusa Youth Association was the Guest of Honour. The program began with the Lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour, with Mangalacharan by students. They were felicitated with a token of love, and ‘Arohi’ was also inaugurated through them. The Welcome Speech was given by Principal VKV Khazalang. Su. Kamala Devi spoke on the importance of the day. She highlighted the five words of Swamiji’s “Sisters and Brothers of America”. She said Swamiji Vivekananda, through his inspiring words, had introduced the greatness of India’s ancient culture and spirituality to the world. Km. Sangjuai Sangcho of class IV presented the Chicago Address. Our students presented a beautiful Sajolang (Miji) song, followed by the Action song of classes I & II. Km. Lhamu Choijang and Km. Aradhya Nikhangju from class IV presented Vivek Vani in Hindi and English. A classical dance was performed by Km. Gloria Khiluju and Alisha Thriju were followed by the traditional Miji dance. An important and spiritual part of the event was the Gita Chanting performance by the students. Class I students presented Swami Vivekananda’s quotations. A patriotic song was also presented by the students. The highlight of the day was the inspiring speech delivered by our Chief Guest. He urged everyone to live in peace and harmony in this diverse land and spread the message of brotherhood. He said Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas not only work on academic excellence but also on the overall personality development of students. He also requested the Youths to come forward and support VKV Khazalang in the developmental work. The Chief Guest also donated a Smart TV to the school. The Guest of Honor, Sri Lobsang Khiluju, appreciated VKV Khazalang for its teaching values such as honesty, discipline, and overall students' learning outcomes. He assured that the youth association would always be there to support the school. The vote of Thanks was spoken by Shri Rituraj Moran. The program ended with the Shanti Mantra

VKV Khazalang celebrates Independence Day with great patriotic zeal and enthusiasm on 15th August 2025. The celebration began early in the morning with a Prabhat Pheri where students, teachers, and staff marched through the nearby streets carrying the tri colour National Flag, shouting Slogans and spreading the message of unity and freedom.
