National Yoga Olympiad was Observed - VKV Itanagar
A three day National Yoga Olympiad was inaugurated at the National Council of Education Research and Training in CIET in New Delhi by Mr. Eric Falt Director and UNESCO representative of the New Delhi Cluster Office for India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
This was the third consecutive year of National Yoga Olympiad of NCERT and this year about 500 students from 26 States and for regional institute was participated in the Olympiad.
It was a proud moment for Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas that four boys and four girls along with two escort teachers from VKV Itanagar represented Arunachal Pradesh at Secondary Level in the National Yoga Olympiad.
Professor Hrushikesh Senapaty, Director NCERT welcomed everybody cordially. In this speech he said that through Olympiad awareness of scientific holistic lifestyle increase. Its purpose is to create positive outlook among people and to promote peaceful lifestyle in society. He quoted Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi, “It is our responsibility to ensure that right spirit of yoga is conveyed to everyone”.
Professor Saraj Yadav Dean, NCERT narrated the journey of yoga Olympiad highlighted the importance of yoga in the development of physical, mental, and spiritual health.
In the welcome address Prof. Hrushikesh Senapati, congratulated the teachers and students who have came from district level to state level and finally to the national level to participated in National Yoga Olympiad 2018.
