A three day National Yoga Olympiad was inaugurated at the National Council of Education Research and Training in CIET in New Delhi by Mr. Eric Falt Director and UNESCO representative of the New Delhi Cluster Office for India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka.

This was the third consecutive year of National Yoga Olympiad of NCERT and this year about 500 students from 26 States and for regional institute was participated in the Olympiad.

It was a proud moment for Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas that four boys and four girls along with two escort teachers from VKV Itanagar represented Arunachal Pradesh at Secondary Level in the National Yoga Olympiad.

Professor Hrushikesh Senapaty, Director NCERT welcomed everybody cordially. In this speech he said that through Olympiad awareness of scientific holistic lifestyle increase. Its purpose is to create positive outlook among people and to promote peaceful lifestyle in society. He quoted Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi, “It is our responsibility to ensure that right spirit of yoga is conveyed to everyone”.

Professor Saraj Yadav Dean, NCERT narrated the journey of yoga Olympiad highlighted the importance of yoga in the development of physical, mental, and spiritual health.

In the welcome address Prof. Hrushikesh Senapati, congratulated the teachers and students who have came from district level to state level and finally to the national level to participated in National Yoga Olympiad 2018.

School Supporting Group of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar organised small programme to felicitate toppers and meritorious students who excelled in the Class X and XII CBSE board examinations held in 2018- 2019. Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chaggan Principal VKV Itanagar welcomed one all present on the occasion. Dr. Madhu Rani Teotia (IAS) Secretary Education Arunachal Pradesh graced the occasion as Chief Guest and felicitated the toppers. She had also addressed the gathering in very delightful manner. She congratulated all the toppers and advised other to be good in academics, as percentage in academics is the reflection of the hardwork and efforts done by the students. She also motivated the students who scored less marks and advised them to hone their other skills in which they are good. She urged all the students to take parts in extempore competitions and boost their confidence level. Moreover she has appreciated the disciplinary routine of VKV schools.

We had also the kind presence of Shri. Unnikrishnan P. M (Education Officer VKVAPT) He had also addressed the gathering in befitting manner. He had appreciated the new initiative program organised by School Supporting Group of Felicitation of School Toppers. This felicitation program in presence of high achievers will also inspired coming batches for best performance.

The parent teachers meeting for Class I and Class VII newly admitted students.

Meeting started at 10:30 am on 25-05-2019 (Saturday). About 45 parents of Class I and Class VII attended the programme. Smt. Suparna Ghosh Dutta, Primary in-charge (teacher) welcome the parents. Power point presentation by Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, Principal, about discipline, uniform, safety measures and examination schedule followed by interaction with parents. Vote of thanks by Smt. Verification of documents by the class teachers of Class I Smt. A Mandakini Devi and Class VII Su. Ibi Sora has been done.

On 9th of February ‘On 9th of February ‘2019 a Information Technology (IT) Quiz was conducted at the school auditorium of VKV Chimpu, Itanagar.
It was for classes VI to IX and altogether 16 nos of participant in four groups were participated.
It was attended by all the students from Class VI to X along with some of the teachers.
The aim is to bring awareness and to explore the knowledge about the Information Technology and Digital India Movement.
It was initiated and executed by Sri Gautam Das, IT Teacher of VKV Chimpu along with the assistance of four students of class-X.
The questions asked were right from history of development in IT and the latest innovation in IT Technology. Students were very energized and felt benefited with some of the latest development in IT world.
Winners and runners up group were awarded with Digital India Medal and VKV school Certificates by Principal of VKV Chimpu in School Assembly.

VKV ITA 7th Feb 2019:: VKV- Itanagar conducted the Matri Puja for the students and parents of class-X. At 03:30 pm. Class-X students received their mothers / fathers to the prayer hall after washing the feets of their parents. It was noticed that such an holy task was done by the students for the first time in the their life and it could touch their heart. Out of 39 students a total number of 32 parents graced the occasion.

All the parents offered flowers in the front of BHARAT MATA and then they were taken to the prayer hall after the Tilak. Under the guidance of Sri Pankaj Kumar programme started with invocation by Class X students followed by the Welcome address from Dr. Kakade Rajendra C. Principal, VKV-Itanagar. He also introduced Shri R. Krishnakumarji, Member, VKVAPT to the parents and the students.

After this, Shri R. Krishnakumarji spoke to the participants about the significance of the Matri Puja. In his elaborate speech he explained the role of a mother for the growth of a child with some interesting facts.

It was followed by the deliveration of instructions from Shri R. Krishnakumarji for beginning of Matri Puja. The complete puja was conducted as per the guidelines issued by VKVAPT. The whole procedure of puja was performed by the parents and students from the inner-core of their hearts.

Three parents shared her experiences and appraised the VKVs for organising such a value-based programme for the development of parent – child relationship in the society. The programme was concluded by Shanti Mantra.

On 29th January 2019 at VKV-ITANAGAR telecasted live TV show on Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0 at Eknathji Centenary Hall. 200 students from Class VI to XI attended fruitful discussion show.

In which Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held 'Charcha' with students to help them to relieve from the stress of exams. Lakhs of students and thousands of schools across the country were connected to the event to discuss exam-related issues through a video conference from Delhi's Talkatora Stadium.

The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar with much enthusiasm. At sharp 8.15 a.m. Principal Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chaggan hoisted the try-colour flag with great patriotic zeal. Even he spoke on the importance of the day. In his short but precious words he appealed all the students to have the tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of Mother India. Sweets were distributed to all the students. Moreover house wise patriotic dance & Speech competition was held to mark this day. Students have elegantly presented colourful program.

Annual Sports Meet for the Session 2018-19 inaugurated in the Vivekanand Kendra Vidyalaya for three days i.e. 17th, 18th & 19th January 2019 .The Sports Meet was formally inaugurated by the Shri. Y. Pradeep Principal VKV Vivek Vihar.

In the inaugural speech Shri. Y. Pradeep , highlighted the value of games & sports in the life of students. He also wish good luck to all the sports participants. After the speech he declared the Annual Sports Meet Open.

The various sports events are kept on 17th January and some Final events are kept on 19th January 2019 as it will be the Concluding ceremony. The competitions are House wise in which all the groups such as Primary, Senior and Junior will take part.
