Parent Teacher meeting of Class X & XII (Humanities /Science) was held on 11th July 2018 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar in presence of Shri. Unnikrishnan P M, Education Officer VKVAPT.

85 parents along with students attended the meeting. The program started with mangalacharn. Principal Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan welcomed everyone cordially.

There was also an introduction of subject teachers of Class X & XII So that both the teachers and parents get familiar with each other. Shri. Unnikrishnan PM spoke about academic excellence, strategies to prepare well & motivated all the students for excellent performance in academic session through his stories and anecdotes.

Parents also expressed their suggestion and experience about their wards.

Shri. Sumant Kumar conveyed his vote of thanks & meeting ended with mangalacharan. Dr. Shiva Prasad Mishra coordinated the meeting.

The Directorate of Economics & Statistics celebrated the 12th Statistics Day on 29th June 2018 commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of great statistician Prof PC Mahalanobis, in a grand manner on Friday. A quiz competition was organized to mark the celebration. There were six schools of capital complex Itanagar. Among them VKV Itanagar girls of Class XII bagged the first prize. Km. Indi Molo, Km. Marry Malling, & Km. Kago Umi The participants were awarded with citations and mementos.

A three day National Yoga Olympiad was inaugurated at the National Council of Education Research and Training in CIET in New Delhi by Mr. Eric Falt Director and UNESCO representative of the New Delhi Cluster Office for India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives and Sri Lanka.

This was the third consecutive year of National Yoga Olympiad of NCERT and this year about 500 students from 26 States and for regional institute was participated in the Olympiad.

It was a proud moment for Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas that four boys and four girls along with two escort teachers from VKV Itanagar represented Arunachal Pradesh at Secondary Level in the National Yoga Olympiad.

Professor Hrushikesh Senapaty, Director NCERT welcomed everybody cordially. In this speech he said that through Olympiad awareness of scientific holistic lifestyle increase. Its purpose is to create positive outlook among people and to promote peaceful lifestyle in society. He quoted Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi, “It is our responsibility to ensure that right spirit of yoga is conveyed to everyone”.

Building Program on Life Skills organized by CBSE Centre of Excellence(COE), Guwahati at Royal International School, Naharlagun, Dr. Sandeep Kumar Jain (CBSE, Deputy Secretary, Guwahati) and Prof.Rishipal ( Amity University Gurgaon) are the resource person. There were 47 teachers of different School attended the program. Before the program there was introduction by the teachers. Dr. Sandeep Kumar Jain spoke on need and importance of Life Skills. He gave lectures on various skills which is important for over loping critical thinking capacity. He briefly explained of various Life skills by PPT. He told Life skills development in a lifelong process that helps individual grow and matures.

Prof: Rishipla spoke on various techniques to Enhance Life skills in Students. He explained of different techniques which helps the student for developing their self awareness, critical thinking capacity and build confidence. He gave tasks as a group activity how these technique can need indicating life skills among students. We had discussed on these techniques and shared their experience. They had given us hand out of 10 stories (for activity). Lastly they suggested to filled feedback form.

Sri. Aurobindo Mohanty and Sri. Anil Mech attended the one day workshop.

Professor Saraj Yadav Dean, NCERT narrated the journey of yoga Olympiad highlighted the importance of yoga in the development of physical, mental, and spiritual health.

In the welcome address Prof. Hrushikesh Senapati, congratulated the teachers and students who have came from district level to state level and finally to the national level to participated in National Yoga Olympiad 2018.

Thus three day National Yoga Olympiad concluded with great presentation of Yoga practice both boy and girls of different states.

Students of Government Girls Schools in Rewari (Hariyana) and Kerala have made a great presentation of yoga practice to books ‘Joy of Theatre’ and Music, Training package was released on the occasion.

4th International Yoga Day celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar with great enthusiasm. Shri. Pankaj Kumar conducted a meditation session in the morning and helped students learn the positive impacts of meditation and understand the benefits of yoga. All the classes participated in yoga activities. The logo for International Day for Yoga was explained which stated

Folding of both hands in the logo Symbolize Yoga, the union, which reflects the union of individual consciousness with that of universal consciousness, a perfect harmony between mind & body, man & nature; a holistic approach to health & wellbeing.

The logo reflects harmony and peace for humanity, which is the essence of Yoga.

The students performed yogic exercises and ‘pranayam’ to celebrate this day

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar organised small programme to felicitate toppers and meritorious students who excelled in the Class X and XII CBSE board examinations held recently. Dr. Tongam Pertin Director Trade & Commerce Itanagar, Smt. Biri Yalik Councillor were present on the occasion & felicitated the students.

Dr. Tongam Pertin gave valuable suggestions & motivation to coming class of X & XII batches.
It was emotional and joyous moment for students as the toppers shared their experiences.
Class IX to XII students attended the programme.

Parent Teacher meeting of Class I was held on 9th June 2018 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar.  55 out of 74 parents attended the meeting. The program started with Mangalacharn. Smt Suparna Ghosh Dutta, in charge of Primary section, welcomed everyone cordially.

There was also an introduction of class teachers and subject teachers of Class I. So that both the teachers and parents get to be familiar with each other.

Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, Principal Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Itanagar addressed the audience and briefed the guidelines for students and parents. He also clarified the rules and regulations of the school to the parents. Before he concluding his speech he briefed the parents about patron. And there was tremendous co operation from the parents and more that 24 parents enrolled themselves as patron.
