VKV- Itanagar conducted the Matri Puja for the students and parents of class-X. At 10.00 am. Class-X students received their mothers / fathers to the prayer hall after washing the feets of their parents. It was noticed that such an holy task was done by the students for the first time in the their life and it could touch their heart. Out of 46 students a total number of 18 parents graced the occasion.

All the parents offered flowers in the front of BHARAT MATA  and then they were taken to the prayer hall after the Tilak. Sri. Pankaj Kumar started the programme with innvocation followed by the Welcome address from Dr. Kakade Rajendra C.  Principal, VKV-Itanagar. He also introduced Shri R. Krishnakumarji, Member, VKVAPT to the parents and the students.

After this, Shri R. Krishnakumarji  spoke to the participants about the significance of the Matri Puja. In his elaborate speech he explained the role of a mother for the growth of a child with some interesting facts.

VKV Itanagar held Prize Distribution Ceremony of Academic Session 2017-18 on 9th February 2018 at Eknathji Centenary Hall.

Dr. Shristidhar Dutta  trustee member of VKVAPT as Chief Guest along with Prof. Uma Datta & Dr. V N Sharma Vice Chancellor of Arunodaya University Arunachal Pradesh as guest of honours graced the occasion. Dr. Kakade Rajendra C Principal of VKV Itanagar formally welcomed & felicitated guests with token of love. During this all the high achievers prizes, group event's prizes, Best player's prizes, State & National event's prizes were given away by the distinguished guests.

The Chief Guest Dr. Shristidhar Dutta tremendously motivated and appreciated the talent of students & advised them to keep the same zest alive.

He also suggested the students to feel proud to be the students of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya as this is the only organization where The Value System is being taught & it is being reflected by these activities.

Measles - Rubella Vaccination campaign (MR) conducted in VKV Itanagar on 5th February 2018. Dr. Toyir Ete along with her medical expertise team of 10 nurses from PHC Dept. successfully immunised 565 students from class I to X. The main motive behind of this to eliminate Measles and control Rubella by 2020 in country.

Visit of MHRD

MHRD team from Delhi along with sate officials visited the school to ensure the smooth conduct of NAS examination for class X Students. 45 students participated in the examination.

Man. BHANUDASJI,General Secretary, VIVEKANANDA KENDRA,KANYAKUMARI visited VKV Itangar along with Sri RUPESH MATHURJI,Joint Secretary,VKV
ARUNACHAL PRADESH TRUST on 31st January 2018. During his stay in the school campus, he addressed all the residential teachers.He  conducted
a small activity for seeking suggestions "Why the parents should admit their children only in VKV" He also guided teachers how to improve the
quality of education with ideology of Swami Vivekananda.
On 1st February 2018 in morning assembly Man. Bahanudasji addressed all the students & emphasized on Sister Nivedita's great contribution
in the field of Indian Education.

The 69th Republic Day was celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Itanagar with much enthusiasm. At sharp 8:00am in the presence of Acharya Ananyaji, from Chinmaya Mission, Principal Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan hoisted the tri-colour flag with great patriotic zeal. Even he spoke on the significance of the day. In his short but precious words appealed all the students to have the tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of tri-colour flag of India. sweets were distributed to all the students.

Moreover, our girls students along with Sri Prakash Borah, PET. participated in Republic Day parade at IG park Itanagar. The girls parade team gave impressive performed and secured First Prize. The group was felicitated by His Excellency Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. B.D. Mishra and appreciated the skill of our parade team

18^TH Utsarg Samaroh of 3- VKVs for Class-X students initially started on 24^th January 2018. The participants from following schools attended the UTSARG -18.

Altogether 132 students attended the Utsarg.

On 24^th afternoon, The Utsarg -18 was formally inaugurated in the presence of Chief Guest Sri Nabam Shelly, Block Education Officer, Capital Complex, Itanagar. Sri Unnikrishnan P.M. Education Officer VKVAPT and Sri Krishna Kumar, Member VKVAPT also graced the Inaugural function. The programme started with Mangalacharan. The Principal VKV Itanagar Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, welcomed everybody cordially.

Saraswati Puja celebrated in Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Itanagar. 700 students alongwith teachers attended the programme.Started with Aikya Mantra “Om Sahana Vavatu”

Annual Sports Meet for the Session 2017-18 inaugurated in the School for three days i.e. 18th, 19th & 20th January 2018 .The Sports Meet was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri. Habung Hailyang A.S.P., PHQ Itanagar.

In the inaugural speech Shri Habung Hailyang A.S.P., PHQ Itanagar, highlighted the value of games & sports in the life of students. He also explained about different career scope in police services. After the speech he declared the Annual Sports Meet Open.

The various sports events are kept on 18th January and some Final events are kept on 20th January 2018 as it will be the Concluding ceremony. The competitions are House wise in which all the groups such as Primary, Senior and Junior will take part.
