A specially designed programme called “Vivek Inspire Mentor’s Workshop” for selected VKV Teachers were inaugurated at Eknathji Centenary Hall VKV Itanagar at 08.00 AM on 17/08/2018. 21 teachers from various VKV’s of Arunachal Pradesh reported. Su. Mrinmayi Vaishampayan and Shri P.M. Unnikrishnan, Education Officer VKVAPT were the resource persons for 2days camp from 17th to 18th August 2018. Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, Principal VKV Itanagar cordially welcomed one and all.

In this 2 days workshop various session were being conducted. The session started with address of  Shri P. M. Unnikrishnan. In his speech he asked about the activities the mentor’s have performed in their respective schools so far followed by an activity where the mentor’s discussed about what is Vivek Inspire, its objectives, what are the different activities conducted here, impacts on the students, the teachers as well as for the schools. Besides this, each teacher has to prepare a session plan for experiential learning followed by presentation.

Through the session of observation checklist, all the teacher mentor had to prepare the details of one of their student which the teacher had been knowing the student for a long time and make a observation checklist.

72th Independence Day was celebrated in our school with gaiety and favour. At the outset the National Flag was hoisted in the school premises by Shri. Dr. Kakade Rajendra Principal, VKV Itanagar followed by his address to the assembly of students and teachers on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day. It was followed by various cultural events of dance and drama. The programme began with invocation (Mangalacharan) by Class-XII girls. There was also kind presence of Man. Balakrishnanji Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari. He addressed all the students and parents on this occasion. He also guided them about to develop real instinct of patriotism in ourselves. Then there were House-wise Cultural competitions like Patriotic Drama, Traditional Dance. Each house has represented their drama & traditional dance with unique themes. Total 470 students along with staff, parents & well wishers attended the programme.

A Capacity Building Program (2 days workshop) was conducted by CBSE Guwahati at Global Academy Naharlagun for the Secondary level science Teachers from 27.07.2018 to 28.07.2018. The objective of this program was:-

1. Enhance our teaching ability.
2. How to introduce the science topic through Activity based.
3. To enhance the learning outcome of the students.
4. How to teach science.
5. What are the objectives of teaching science?
6. Prepare an effective lesson Plan.
7. Presentation
8. Preparation of Question paper, etc.,

The exposure tour for learning Science was organized by Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology and it was sponsored by Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology. A group of 10 meritorious students from different parts of Arunachal Pradesh, 2 from VKV, Itanagar , Km. Wesessweni Konwar of Cl-IX and Kr. Nguli Lombi of Cl-XISc. along with 3 escort teachers, Sri Manoj Shah-VKV ITA, Tutumoni Doimary-VKV Nirjuli & Sri Anil Kumar VCS Daporijo and 2 officials visited to IISC Bangalore from 19^th July to 21^st July 2018.

During the exposure tour, following spot they could visit and learned from exposure.

1. ISRO:- Indian Space Research Organization. We went there and show a clip of Chandrayan I. Also we could see the clean room of Chandrayan II.
2. HAL: - Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. There we could see different types of Aircrafts, Space and pre historic things.
3. Jawaharlal Planetarium:- There was a session about starts. They had shown us about the cycle of rebirth of stars. Also could see the animation of constellation and Black holes.

Department of Science and Technology had organized a scientific program “Inspire Awards – MANAK”, a proposal from National Innovation Foundation India at Dorjee Khandu Convention Centre, Itanagar on 23-07-2018; where in students from different schools sent their innovative ideas to the department in the academic session 2017-18. The best innovative ideas were selected for the State Level.

5 schools represented their best innovative ideas, i.e. KV Miao, KV Khonsa, VKV Jirdin, VKV Itanagar, VKV Roing. There were 9 participants out of which 4 students participated in the program.

Two best exhibits were selected for National Level. Among them, VKV Itanagar represented by Kr. Debanil Roy of Class X with his innovative topic – “Baggage Tracking System” got selected for National Level. He implemented many advanced technological aspects. The exhibits were judged by

On 14th and 15th July 2018 in Good shepherd Public School two days Capacity building workshop on mathematics for secondary teachers was conducted by CBSE. There were 30 teachers from 14 different schools out of 10 teachers from 6 different VKVs were divided into six groups. From our school Smt Shilpi Das Gupta and Sri Kishore Kumar Nath was there in the workshop.

The resource person Dr. Munindra Kumar Mazumder (PGT Maths) from Maria Public School under the guidance of Principal of Good shepherd public school Mr. Joshy Kurian. He took all together 8 different sessions in two days on Joyful Learning Environment in Mathematics Classroom. First day’s session were on concept map presentation and discussion, Hand on activities (group work) second day’s session were on model making, mathematics quiz, Tangram design and presentation, maths fair etc.

World Population Day was observed on 11th July 2018 at Itanagar with main theme “Ek sarthak kal ki shuruwat, parivar niyojan ke sath”

The purpose of observing this day is to spread awareness and discuss issues related to population growth.

Addressing the gathering at the Vivekananda Hall, RKHM here on the occasion, Health and Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang advocated for small family as the key to prosperous life.

“Small family has many advantages.  Class XII-Arts 44 NSS Volunteers of VKV Itanagar took part in awareness rally along with escort teacher Shri. Anil Mech.

Parent Teacher meeting of Class X & XII (Humanities /Science) was held on 11th July 2018 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya Itanagar in presence of Shri. Unnikrishnan P M, Education Officer VKVAPT.

85 parents along with students attended the meeting. The program started with mangalacharn. Principal Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan welcomed everyone cordially.

There was also an introduction of subject teachers of Class X & XII So that both the teachers and parents get familiar with each other. Shri. Unnikrishnan PM spoke about academic excellence, strategies to prepare well & motivated all the students for excellent performance in academic session through his stories and anecdotes.

Parents also expressed their suggestion and experience about their wards.

Shri. Sumant Kumar conveyed his vote of thanks & meeting ended with mangalacharan. Dr. Shiva Prasad Mishra coordinated the meeting.
