Awareness rally –cum- Street Play presentation was organized in the area of Chandranagar (Itanagar) at 9.30am with presence of area councilor & nearby residents.  The main motive of this rally to sensitize the people & spared the message of cleanliness.  Availing the great opportunity of National Youth Day 100 students of VKV Itanagar along with teaching staff could sensitize the people & promote awareness about cleanliness. The street play & catchy slogans of the rally left remarkable impact on viewers.       

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti was celebrated in Eknathji Centenary hall of VKV Itanagar with great zest and zeal. Various colourful programmes were unleashed on the occasion by the students like traditional dance, classical dance, skit & primary students also presented Hindi & English action songs etc. 500 gatherings including parents, well –wishers and school supporting group members witnessed the programme. Smt. Mitali Namchoom  (IAS) Deputy Commissioner of Lower Dibang Valley as chief guest along with P.M. Unnikrishnan Education Officer VKVAPT, Shri. S C Dixit Principal of VKV Nirjuli graced the occasion.

In response to call of Mission Ambassador for cleanliness drive in twin Capital city of Arunachal Pradesh on the theme “HAMARA ELAN SWACHHATA AUR NARI UTTHAN”. NSS unit of VKV Itanagar’s 20 volunteers along with Principal Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan and Programme Officer Sri Patil Pankaj Balasaheb participated in cleanliness drive conducted in Chimpu area in presence of Brigadier Dr. BD Mishra, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Deputy Commissioner Shri Prince Dhawan, Chief Councillor Smt. Kipa Kaku.

Governor & all the Govt. officials appreciated the work of volunteers & advised to keep the same zest alive.

In response to “Swachhata Abhiyan” launched by His Excellency Brigadier Dr. B.D. Mishra, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh on 8th Jan’2018 from Zero point to Itanagar. 40 NSS volunteers of VKV Itanagar along with Programme Officer Sri Patil Pankaj Balasaheb participated in awareness programme. Class IX and XI Arts students presented “Street Play” in the crowded spots of Itanagar.

Eight Actor’s play mainly focused on the need for cleanliness & the concept of Swachhata Abhiyan is not only for media & news but also for self awareness of cleanliness.

Street play left a great impact on the viewers.

The Director MHRD Supreme Court Judge UNICEF representatives visited at Vivekananda  Kendra Vidyalaya, Itanagar on 14th Dec’2017 to check the actual implementation of MDM programme in school level.

The team has inspected all the aspects of school conduct, like Sanitation, Nutrition of students and inquired about regular health check up.

They have appreciated the work of school in these aspects.One of the team member thoroughly inspected actual implementation of MDM & it’s accounts keeping.

A small career counseling session was conducted for the students of Class XII Arts and Science. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Deputy Director, School of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship welcomed by Dr. Kakade Rajendra Chhagan, Principal.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma guided the students about various courses after the Class 12th. He highlighted the International exposure through various degree courses. He could satisfy the students’ queries and confusion about the selection of course.

The regional level Sci-Connect Quiz competition was stared after the inauguration of porgrmme by Dr. A. K Mishra ASTEC.

The participant from eight north east states have attended the program mainly the students who have qualified in the second round that was held at their respective states. The programme was started after the introduction of participant who attended the programme. In this competition there was one team from Arunachal Pradesh consisting three students from three different school. Kr.Nguli Lombi  VKV Itanagar, Kr. Arnab Bhattacharjee VKV Vivek Vihar, Km. Purva Pusti KV Tawang.

On 14^th  November 2017, the Biley Science Club of V K V Itanagar organized a Science Exhibition in which the students from class III to XI participated with a lot of enthusiasm.

Dr. Anuradha Panigrihi, Professor of Physics at D N College, Dr. B K Mishra, Professor of Chemistry at D N College and Vivek Kumar, curator of Science Centre, Itanagar,  These highly distinguished Judges were invited to judge the models.

Total of 318 participants in which 106 models were presented in the exhibition, and the judges were really delighted to see the effortful response of all the participants.

A variety of models could be seen, which were all based on different fields of science. Starting from static volcano models to making Hydraulics. The participants were divided in to 3 groups: Junior, middle and senior. Each group strived a lot of efforts to make this program a successful one.

The five days workshop for the Primary Teachers was held at VKV Itanagar on and from 31^st October to 4^th November 2017. Teachers from Vivek Vihar and Itanagar attended the workshop under the guideline of Arvind Gore, the renoured Educationist.

It was really a wonderful workshop. Arrived Gore Sir wanted to high light the great message of Swami Vivekananda. i.e. Each Soul is potentially divine. He guided the teachers to teach the students with Concerns, not with worry, with the solution not with the problem. For this he advised the teachers to remember the following things along with their lesson plan etc.

1. The most and basic obligation of a teacher is to see the beauty exist inside the mind of the Children.
2. Punishment will never solve the problem.
3. Love, appreciate and enter in to the mind and heart of the students.
4. Make good relationship with the children.
5. Every child is a beautiful flower. Altogether they can make a beautiful garden.

Sri Arvind Gore sir practically showed all sorts of teaching techniques narrating marvelous touching stories of real life. The workshop ended with Valedictory function. Teachers should their experience. Five days workshop was really an achievement for the teachers.
