On the occasion of UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD DAY ,Vivekananda Kendra Itanagar organised ‘RUN FOR THE NATION ‘ on 11th Sept.2013.

Sri J.K.PANGGENG, Hon’ble PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY flagged off the programme at Nyokam Lapang Ground near Ziro point.  Jawans from  CRPF, ITBF, Teachers and students of VKVs and various educational  institutions, Officials of various departments  and general public actively participated in this programme of RUN FOR THE NATION  from Nyokam Lapang Ground to Vivekananda hall at Ramakrishna Mission Hospital Complex. After this a  solemn function was organised at Vivekananda Hall to highlight the importance of Brotherhood Day and relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s Teachings in our day-to-day life.

Sri T.N.Thungdok, Hon’ble Parliamentary Secretary &Principal advisor to Chief Minister, Arunachal Pradesh graced the occasion as Chief guest. He emphasised the need to preserve our cultural heritage irrespective of one’s religious faith.

VKV Itanagar celebrated Ozone day by conducting various programs for the benefit of a large number of students and teachers as well as public.

Procession:
A large number of students and teachers took part in a grand procession to evoke awareness on the occasion. All teachers and students of Class- IV to VIII participated in the procession enthusiastically by shouting slogans to protect the Ozone layer and save life in the planet earth.

Slogan and Poster making Competition:
A large number of students participated in slogan and poster writing competition in an endeavor to bring down the essence of the occasion. Later  posters were displayed  for all the students.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of VKV, Itanagar conducted a seminar on the topic, ‘National Integration: Challenges and Solutions’ at the school on 6th July 2013. Attending the programme, NSS State Liaison Officer Dr. VN Sharma encouraged the students to involve themselves in social service and stressed on imbibing moral qualities, like dedication, discipline, cooperation, brotherhood by students.

Twenty higher secondary level students enthusiastically participated in the seminar and shared their views on the key theme.All the participating volunteers took NSS pledge led by Shri.Uthaman V.N., Programme Officer. 350 students and 20 teachers attended the three-hour-long programme.

Matru puja (Worship of Mother) organised for Class -X students in the Vidyalaya in a devotionally charged atmosphere in which 53 students performed puja for their mothers on 18.01.2015 at 9.30 am to 11.45 am.

Sri S.C. Dixit, Principal,VKV, Itanagar welcomed everybody who gathered for this noble occasion.

Su. Radha Didi, Joint Sec. VKVAPT,  Dibrugarh;  Sri R. Krishnakumarji, Cluster- In-Charge of Tirap & Lohit districts were present on this auspicious day.

In a serene atmosphere, students got an opportunity to perform puja with right bhavana and experienced the beautiful relationship with their parents. Su. Radha Didi explained the noble purpose behind this programme for all the students in all VKVs.

Vaccination against Japanese encephalitis campaign-2015 was conducted in our school on16th and 22nd July 2015 in which 216 (two hundred sixteen) students from Cl-I to X were vaccinated against the disease.

Participation: All 441 students of class VI to XII.

On 18^th Dec’2014, Quiz competition was organized by class X students under the guideness of mathematics teachers. The objective behind this was to make the student efficient in organizing competition as well as to have revision of the concept they have in earlier classes. The competition was housewise and VI to VIII students participated. There were 4 groups of 4 students each. there were five rounds in the Quiz.

On 19^th Dec’2014: “Experience Sharing on Innovation by Teachers and students was done.

8 boys and 5 girls of Class X shared their innovative way of using Vedic mathematics (Nine theory, Nikilam, etc.) to calculate quickly and correctly. This was shared to bring awareness of our richness of mathematics.

All mathematics teachers shared one or two innovative ways of solving mathematical problems.

Conducted essay writing programme on 11th July-2015 in which 120 students from the Vidyalaya, Classes 9th to 12th participated enthusiastically and wrote their essays on below mentioned topics-

1.      Women in defense forces
2.      The woman scientist I admire most
3.      Women who changed the course of Indian history.

Out of 108 entries, selected all over India by CBSE, two essays from Arunachal Pradesh written by Lisa Ghosh, Cl-XII and Akash Sharma, Cl-XII VKV Chimpu Itanagar won the cash award and certificate.

His Excellency, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh inaugurated the new school auditorium (Eknathji Centenary Bhavan) and the Primary sections on 16th July ‘2015. He was welcomed by a troupe of Rikom Pada, the famous folk dance of Nyishi community and School band troop near the gate. VKV Banderdewa students gave the Rashtriya Salute with band.

Dr. Joram Begi, Prant Pramukh welcomed the Chief guests. Dr. Tejum Padu, Trustee VKVAPT felicitated His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Joram Begi and Sri Bhanudasji, the General Secretary of Vivekananda Kendra & Vivekananda Rock Memorial. Sri Bhanudasji highlighted Mananeeya Eknathji’s life and mission behind the construction of Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Vivekananda Kendra, whose birth centenary we are celebrating this year.

His Excellency the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh lauded the efforts of Vivekananda Kendra in the field of education. Su. Radha Devi Joint Secretary, VKVAPT gave vote of thanks to one and all present for the function.

Totally 412 parents & eminent invitees from various departments were present in the hall. The children of VKV Itanagar, Vivek Vihar and Banderdewa cheered the governor from outside during his arrival and departure. They viewed the live program on Plasma T.V.
