VKV Tezu celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotism, and pride. The celebration began with a vibrant Prabhat Pheri, followed by the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag and the National Anthem.

Principal Sri Soumen Roy Chowdhury addressed the gathering, highlighting the role of students in building a developed India by 2047 and remembering the sacrifices of our freedom fighters. Students and staff joined in singing Vande Mataram to commemorate its 150th anniversary. A special videography featuring Stanza 3 was also recorded at Lama Camp, Tezu.

The celebration featured patriotic songs, dances, a drama, and an energetic Mass PT Display by Classes III–V. Students also proudly participated in the official parade at Jubilee Ground organised by the District Administration.

The programme concluded with prize distribution for various competitions held on the theme “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat @2047.” The day was a memorable celebration of patriotism, unity, and national pride.

VKV Tezu celebrated Guru Purnima and Amrit Parivar Milan with great enthusiasm under the guidance and blessings of Sri Yatolum Tindya, esteemed Mishmi Pujari. Principal Sri Soumen Roy Chowdhury addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the Guru in one’s life. The programme included Guru Vandana, local Mishmi Bhajan, and a sacred Mishmi Puja for peace and prosperity. The Mishmi Flag and Donyi Polo Flag were ceremoniously hoisted, symbolising unity and cultural heritage.

The Amrit Parivar Milan brought together Pramukhs, family members, Sankul members, and teachers for a Swadhyaya on the letter of Mananiya Nivedita Didi. Literary competitions and Guru Bhajans were also organised for students, who participated enthusiastically. The celebration was attended by 385 participants, including 350 students, 16 staff members, and 19 invited guests and Sankul members.

VKV Tezu organised an Art Exhibition on 10 July 2026, showcasing an impressive collection of paintings and sketches created by students of Classes IV to X. The exhibition featured 116 artworks, reflecting the remarkable creativity, imagination, and artistic talent of the young participants.

The exhibition provided a wonderful platform for students to express their creativity while enhancing their enthusiasm and artistic skills. Parents, VKV alumni, and School Supporting Members were invited to witness and appreciate the students' outstanding artistic abilities.

Visitors were highly impressed by the originality and quality of the exhibits. The exceptional level of creativity displayed by the students surprised many and highlighted the importance of nurturing artistic expression from an early age. The event was a great success, inspiring both the participants and the visitors while reinforcing the school's commitment to the holistic development of its students.

A two-day Prerana Shibir was successfully organised at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV), Tezu, on 3rd and 4th July 2026 for 45 students of Class VII. The camp aimed to promote discipline, moral values, scientific curiosity, physical fitness, and appreciation of Indian culture.

The inaugural programme was graced by Smt. Sailu Bellai, Principal of Nimkey Vidya Niketan, was the Chief Guest. Sri Soumen Roy Chowdhury, Principal, VKV Tezu, welcomed the participants and highlighted the objectives of the camp.

The students actively participated in sessions, including Chhota Scientist by Sri Uttam Kumar Patel, a Craft session by Smt. Jaswanti Kaur, an inspiring talk on Swami Vivekananda by Smt. Jagroti Ritti Kri, and a lecture on Indian culture and Unity in Diversity by Dr. Jeevantu Tikhak.

During the concluding session, the Principal spoke about the 50 years of VKVs in Arunachal Pradesh and the importance of discipline and dedication. The valedictory function was graced by Sri Gulubso Vellai, ZPM, Sunpura, who inspired students with his message on character building and self-discipline.

The camp concluded successfully, leaving the participants enriched with valuable learning and inspiration.

VKV Tezu celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with enthusiasm and dedication, promoting the theme **“Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”** Students and teachers actively participated in yoga sessions, demonstrations, and breathing exercises, highlighting yoga as a holistic practice that nurtures the body, mind, and soul.

As part of the outreach programme, teachers and students visited GUPS-I and GUPS-III to demonstrate yoga and encourage its adoption for better health, inner peace, and self-discipline. The event was conducted in collaboration with the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, the Health & Wellness Centre, Mekaliang, and Gram Panchayat, Mekaliang.

Through this celebration, VKV Tezu reaffirmed its commitment to the overall well-being of students and inspired the community to embrace yoga as a lifelong practice for a healthier and happier society.

On 05.06.2026, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezu, celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to environmental awareness. The programme was attended by students, staff members, and distinguished guests from the local administration and Forest Department.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp and a welcome address highlighting the importance of environmental conservation. Distinguished guests included Shri Baplalum Chiba, ZPM, Tezu; Shri Gamso Bellai, BJP President of Lohit District; Shri Olom Paron, D.Y.F.R., Tezu; Smt. Sunita Tamang, BJP Mahila Morcha President; and Shri Yalum Ama, social activist.

A key attraction was the Waste-to-Art Exhibition, where students creatively transformed discarded materials into useful and decorative items, promoting the message of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Students also participated in a poem recitation session, while Class IX students presented a thematic skit on environmental protection.

The celebration concluded with a plantation drive in the school campus, guided by forest officials, followed by the Shanti Mantra and a pledge to protect the environment. The programme successfully inspired environmental awareness and responsibility among students.
