Celebration of Kalpataru Diwas at VKV Tezu

On January 2, 2026, Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezu celebrated Kalpataru Diwas with great spiritual fervour and devotion. The event was organized to commemorate the historic day of January 1, 1886, when Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa revealed his divine nature to his disciples at the Cossipore Garden House, blessing them with the words, "May you all be spiritually illumined."
Students and staff members gathered in a solemn atmosphere to offer their prayers and floral tributes to the portrait of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
Sri Champak Kakati, Principal of VKV Tezu, addressed the assembly and highlighted the profound significance of Kalpataru Diwas. In his speech, he explained: The transition of Sri Ramakrishna into the "Kalpataru" (the wish-fulfilling tree) for his disciples. The importance of seeking spiritual growth over material desires. How the teachings of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda continue to guide the youth toward "Man-making and Nation-building."
A significant ritual of the day was the worship of the Banyan Tree (Vat Vriksha) within the school premises. Sri Amit Kumar Bhatt performed the puja and offered prayers.
